Ghost Ships....Annoying!

I Went ahead and installed a load of pretty standard oxps yesterday. However it now seems that half the ships I "shoot down" continue to exist after they apparently blew up. The problem is that you can shoot/fly right through the swine and they are unharmed. They however can quite happily ...

Ditching Cargo

I make a lot of my money by scooping cargo and asteroid debris. Despite my pythons cargo capacity of 115 I often end up with a full bay long before reaching the station and consequently have to let loads of lovely cargo pass me by. Is there any way to selectively dump the low value cargos like food ...

Re: AI sharpshooters

And something unrelated to the topic, but I'm too lazy to open a new one, do all of you have problems with lousy visibility? Meaning, it's very hard for me to see the bastards until they are really close to me, or approximately opposite the sun. Is it a resolution issue? Try the clearskies oxp. Tha...

Re: The downside of bounty hunting

Where? Where? With regard to this the only planet name I remember is Ausar. A general direction like "NW corner" or "North centre" would be fine, but this will help, too ;) And I've already found two anarchies close to each other and I'm abusing them to the maximum, but more is ...

BTW: Isn't the age range an almost perfect "normal distribution curve"? Turn the poll on its side and draw a line of best fit! Regarding this sort of statement. Please see my signature for the quote from General Sherman. I think you've got the wrong guy ... Interesting. Sherman did say th...

Re: The downside of bounty hunting

I found a nice part of galaxy 2 with loads of anarchies and feudal systems and a few very high tech systems (for spares and repair). Where? Where? ? With regard to this the only planet name I remember is Ausar. Theres a hell of a lot of anarchies in this area with a few feudals thrown in for good m...

I found a nice part of galaxy 2 with loads of anarchies and feudal systems and a few very high tech systems (for spares and repair). Just jump into an anarchy and find the hermit thats always near the beacon. Fuel up my Python and kill everything in sight and scoop its goods. I do love it when you g...

(a) Most NPC-ships fire only from a relatively close range. "Relatively" means that they usually start firing when they are roughly 10-14 kilometers away. In most cases you are completely safe from the fire of anything further away than 15 kilometers. So the first thing I do when I have b...

Try to avoid shooting from a distance as this just overheats your laser for little effect. With bigger stronger ships its best to use short bursts every few seconds rather than just letting rip and getting an overheat in the heat of battle. Prioritise your targets. Kill Cobby 3s, Asps, and Lances fi...

What seems to happen regularly for me is that am in the act of shooting at a ship and it launches a missile as the lasers are playing over the launch point. This seems to inflict serious damage even on ships that I have barely begun to shoot up and I have regularly seen a "brand new" Fer d...
