I can confirm this bug on the 1.65 linux build, primarily on higher TL worlds. I'm running on a less than ideal amount of RAM (256MB), and attempting to access the shipyard causes several seconds of disk activity followed by... nothing, as if the keypress hadn't registered. I'll try and get a consol...

My only complaint about the Cobra MkIII is the cargo space. I'm having trouble *affording* a new ship on ~1500 credits / run. To make more, I need to carry more goods. And I can't even get shipping contracts. Your profit margin goes way up if you *ahem* find your cargo, rather than buying it... ;) ...

Not necessarily. Virtually every OXP I've seen has a separate entry for player ships (eg: llama, llama-escort, llama-player).

Once you've worked out the format you can change anything, subject to your own conscience.

Between the Scanner Targeting Enhancement and the scanner zoom, this isn't really necessary. Besides, there would be situations where you'd have a dozen or more canisters in close proximity (to each other AND you), and all those overlapping target reticules would actually make things harder.

My first upgrade from the Cobra 3 was a Josher... it's not as fat as a Cobra, but it's still agile enough to dog-fight with, and it's built like a tank. It has a small front cross section too, making you a little harder to hit head on. Started a new captain last week, and am currently flying a Llama...

Perhaps it an issue with screen aspect ratios. If the HUD element is placed assuming a 4:3 display and it ends up being displayed on a 5:4 display, would this cause an alignment issue? The only custom HUD enabled ship I have installed at the moment is the NjX (nice!) and the HUD appears properly on ...

Re: Cobra III NjX

Lemme know what you think. I didn't go for smoothing on this model because I think the angular faces make it look much nicer - I previewed it smoothed in Wings before deciding. Very nice! :) I agree, the angular facings make it look much nicer, even a little menacing... which considering MY NjX's i...

I think Oosat2 has got it wrong.

I have Oolite installed system-wide and keep my personal OXPs in ~/.Oolite/AddOns/ - I'd imagine that this directory would also work with a local install too, it's part of Oolite's default search path... check the console during game startup.

This is the advantage of using the autopackage I guess... it installs a launcher in the Gnome menu.

If you need the log, I believe most distros already log all error output into a file like Xsession.errors or the like, which is cleared on X restart.

I've have all of Giles' OXPs installed, they match Oolite's look and feel (no surprise ;)) and are nicely balanced. Besides that, I also have one or two other ship OXPs... mainly ships that I want to fly, like FC's Llama and the shiny new Mosquito trader. Eagerly awaiting Sel's new Imperial Courier....
