Re: Joysticks for macs?
I found that the joystick gave a much better feel in dogfighting over keyboard, but lost a bit of precision. With 1.82 the need to dogfight has risen so I've not really felt it as a loss. I took some time with the profiles to get the feel just right for me. One thing I noticed is that thargoids are ...

Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens
Watched it today and found it an enjoyable film with much of the feeling of the original (Episode IV). If I was to be critical, it was perhaps lacking in a bit of the menace and jeopardy of the original. On the whole however a great romp in the star wars universe and definitely makes me want to see ...

Re: Joysticks for macs?
Plug in the usb and it will work with Oolite. If I recall correctly the only problem I had was I needed to reassign the axises sensitivity and buttons to what I wanted. You do this from the f2 screen, can be done in flight after a pause so easy to get it as you want. I tend to use the buttons on the...

Re: Scanner: wobbling targets
Are you using the ECM when this happens?
The ECM now temporarily affects the scanner when used.

Re: The Oolite economy - Police response
One thought: is to introduce a some local 'law enforcement' to complement or counteract (depending upon their allegiances) the Gallop Vipers. So depending upon the criteria you have worked out they might be a positive or negative addition to the policing. Even in an anarchy a group of 'independent b...

Re: Trunk nightly
How often do these unexpected behaviours happen? Do they occur in standard 1.82 at all? I've seen it twice with trunks between 151018 and 151209 I think. Sorry can't remember which exactly. Not been playing 1.82 so can't help there. Not been playing much so might be quite common, of course it requi...

Re: Defence against missiles
There's the firing of your missile at the missile How exactly is that supposed to work ? I never managed to fire a missile onto an incoming missile. E.g. please describe how to do it in the tutorial with no addons installed. (The problem is that the missile cannot be locked onto the incoming one, w...

Re: Defence against missiles
I'm interested in what to do if there's no rear laser (e.g. Adder start). Or no fuel left. Die  The adder start is always a challenge with missiles as even with an ECM installed you have to watch your energy, spamming the ECM is a good way to get yourself killed  There's the firing of...

Re: Naval Energy Unit - now all contracts are orange?
The orange contacts are still worth checking as they might still be possible. The timing is worked out for the shortest number of jumps, not the quickest route, so it just depends on how much time you have used up.

Re: Beginning the game with a loan to pay off
One thing such an OXP could introduce is the possibility to loose. Failing to keep up the payments, leads to repossession of the ship and reduction of credit rating. Too poor a rating and no possibility to get a ship - GAME OVER! Something that's been lost to modern gaming  Would add anothe...

Re: Parcel / passenger transport
Now. that's some News!! What's the reason behind this? Do pirates assume that a courier does not carry any cargo? Well, beside the 8 parcels I carry in the Moment, there are some 1-2000kg of Platinum in my ships belly. Or do the pirates assume that you are more dangerous once you are a well known p...
