Perfect. Is all the necessary stuff available to javascript? If only the wiki was better organised I could maybe answer that myself!

NPC behaviour

Two simple questions: 1 Do NPC's pick up cargo pods - I *think* I've seen 'em do it but it maybe just the heat of battle that made me think they were stealing my 'spoils'! 2 Do NPC ships lose 'capabilities' as they get damaged? They often seem to just drift in a straight line when they're spit...

To pick up on some of the above.... I wouldn't want to make it more 'arcade-like' but if we're shooting (haha) for more realism the ships ought to show damage. We could know the strength of an opponents shields in the same we we can know their legal status.. in fact I'd say it was more logical (thei...

Little things

Maybe these are already in, maybe they've been mentioned before, maybe they're just too heretical.... 1. Some indication of remaining 'hit points' of opponents 2. An indication on the scanner of what is currently targetted (maybe like the comms 'brackets'). When there are 3 cobras behind and I've sp...

I also would like to point you to one feature of the original font which always stood out for me: the considerable length of the horizontal bar of the "L" (making the letter almost square). In your replacement font it is much shorter. If possible I would ask you to make it longer. Applies...

I think the little guy looks far too 'cutesy', like a little cartoon viking (!)

What about making him more like Boba Fett or a stormtrooper (I'll wash my mouth out now) with a winged helmet? i.e. more agressive looking?

Ok - I tried it anyway, it worked fine :) Now, I still see the 'Forward View' message on launching. I thought this might be the default message for the shipLaunchedFromStation method but I guess it must be the after-tunnel-effect or whatever it's called or maybe just hard-coded..... tinkering more....

Okeedokey! Thanks for that, didn't know about Latest.log. I pasted the first bit from the template on the wiki... Log("Initialising OXP " + name); Silly me forgot that 'player' was the object  Just be sure to press Shift when restarting Oolite after you have applied the change. Why, ...

Help with newbie tinkering

Say I want to add a 'farewell message' each time I depart a station. According to the Wiki this should work if save in C:\Program Files\Oolite\AddOns\flashheart.oxp\Config\ as script.js this.name = "ByeBye"; this.author = "FlashHeart"; this.description = "Farewell messages f...

The first time I saw the word I thought it was related to oolith which made me think of monolith and 2001. Strange.

EDIT Ooniverse suggests oolite, Tescoo suggests ohlite. Still it's better than Quack. Sorry, Quake.

Yes the object oriented, leet, blah blah, geekiness is all well and good. Trouble is some of the OXP puns seem to be inconsistent with 'oo' replacing 'oo' AND 'o' sounds.

(I wonder if Tesco would be any more likely to sue than Braben....)

Massive bump for this topic eh? As a relative newcomer to this superb game I am troubled by it's silly (IMHO) name. Whenever I talk to anyone about it I have to spell it out and offer up two or three pronunciations, all of which seem equally daft. It also looks like open office lite! To the po...
