Re: Issues with textures with Oolite 1.80 (HEAD) on OS X
I have two Mac mini´s. An old one and one I bought last week and they both experience similar issues. One on Maverick and on on Yosemeti I load and unload various OXP´s in attempts to rectify the problems. I get the white background screen mentioned above, the lovely but somewhat bizarre rectangles ...

Going back over the thread (posted above) it seems the issue might be when a planet (and in my case a navigation bouy) are somehow created in interstellar space. It is certainly suggested at the end of the thread that two of the clever dev guys found the problem and fought over who could commit the ...

Large ships doing this should also reflect the experience level of the pilot and therefore indicate that his has been in business for a long time, and therefore only be armed with Hard-Heads.. i have lately seen many ships fire these off, only to have them explode a moment later.. but that seems to...

I just looked at my quick code and added two more conditions to make things more practical: 1) No adding of ships within a 250 000 meter range of any deep-space station. 2) Made chance of encounters speed dependent. Now you only get encounters every few minutes when at jumpspeed. At normal maximum ...

On a general note: If we populate deep-space with aliens, I wouldn't go for Thargoids again. But: Wouldn't the Orb be wonderfully fitting for that purpose? They are completely alien and incomprehensible. So I would suggest the occasional Orb encounter out of the spacelines. This sounds good. Someth...

I hope this will be an OXP at most, as it would mean to loose the ability to reach the stations fast if you want to. And I am always for having choices. Personally I´d prefer it needs an OXP to remove the non-space lane ships as I really find the current situation really unrealistic. I´d like them ...

Well yes, that would then be the old-skool player central solution. I feel the commoonity prefers the independent interactive universe model, even if it offers less arcade-action. - Don't get me wrong: player triggered 'ambushes' etcetera are fine by me. It would just be better form, if they are sp...

Whilst I appreciate the ability to avoid the space lanes when you just need to get somewhere fast, it doesn´t make a great deal sense to me. With all those pirates around, it seems to me that any sensible trader would increase their chances of survival and their speed of arrival (and hence profits) ...

OK, I´ve done something remotely like a build and sent what seems to be a screenshot of something looking very similar to what you described that resulted from a hang at a point remarkably similar to the one I get with the normal application. My mac skills are appalling (took me fifteen minutes to f...
