Time Acceleration

Post by parazaine »

I seem to be unable to find anything that states what controls turn on/off time acceleration (or whatever you want to call it) could some kind commander relieve me of my ignorance? Thank you.

As far as I know you can't accelerate time.
You can witchdrive (key "I" if you bought / have the injectors) or jumpdrive (key "J" if it isn't blocked by other ships / planets)

I think it's been mentioned somewhere on this forum I came across that Time acceleration is available on the newest versions and activated by pressing "P" and pressing Up/Down keys for accelerating or slowing down time.

I cannot go into specifics, because i'm still using an old version that (AFAIK) don't have it

Correction I found the post "hj1an" meant, time acceleration really works.

Thanks for finding it. I have a correction to make too, it's actually left/right arrow keys and not up/down :P

Just tried that out  .............but can't see the essential difference between this & a ship that does, say, 5C

well I can see the differences from a technical PoV, but not re. gameplay: you arrive at (or bypass) your destination (or obstacle) 5 times faster than if flying a lightspeed ship - a facility studiously avoided in ship design. However, seems ideal for developing some things  so thanks for the pointer, I will make use of it immediately :D

Well, of course the difference is that with time acceleration everything gets faster (or slower), including the Ooniverse around you. Therefore the relative speed of things stays constant. No advantage for you. However, if only your ship flies fast, this would give you an advantage over the NPCs.

oh I don't actually want to fly around @ 5C in a modded ship - that is really not useful for game-play at all :!:

With the use of time acceleration, comes a potential need for this little utility.
