AFAIK you only repaint the pics, replace the originals in the oxp you've installed and then launch oolite with shift held down to force flush the cache.

Simon_B did start some "how-to" thread when he made the neolite version of ships - I guess that it would be some good help for doing something like that yourself. Maybe give the search option a try for that author...

Talking about old elite - did anyone else modify colors from Atari ST (or Amiga) Elite by simply reassigning the colors in an image and then repaint the main screen to look like the good old C64 Elite? ;)

And don't forget I think was Griff who did a "wireframe" version of the Cobra MkIII - so that's lurking somewhere...

Hey, if you want to share those textures with us, we'd be more than pleased to have a look! A few of us have used the free box.net service. I don't think it likes files bigger than 10mb, though.

Ah yes, before I forget: speccy rules! :D :D

Oh No! Don't start the Speccy/64 thing off again... coz it's moot point - 64 was best! :D

Ah, DH, let them keep their delusions

I can't believe there isn't a Personal Computers Top Trumps set to settle this once and for all.

Anyway, the Amstrad CPCs ruled the roost

Agreed.

Commodore 64? I remember them on the shelves at WHSmith, but nobody actually bought one, surely!

Cheers,

i was going to make it a project , to go through all the ships and retexture them... well "try" and improve them , with plating and lazer scoring ,decals and warning signs etc.
' i was going to just "paint" over the original textures using photo shop.. and then replace them into the oxp..

ihave down loaded all the ones i can on the link from oolite page .. do you know of any more.

OR does ANY ONE OUT THERE want a good texture builder?

I"M not claiming any rights over the creators of ships i just think some could do with a make over?.(no insult intended).

i wouldlike to do this to a few at a time then zip them into one file .. i just need to unload to lite page?.. cant find how.

LENS LOCk yepp got my little red plastic thingy .. but one of the folds has broken off :?

got to run

I'd be happy to put them up in the gallery I set up for my attempts.

No pressure, just an option. :)

Err.... maybe you missed one of my posts above? (this one, to be precise)

In short: save to .obj & use obj2datTex from the command line...

You don't upload OXPs to Oolite - you either start a new thread in the Expansion Forum announcing your new OXP and post a url link to where the file is being hosted so people can download it and/or you PM Winston who is responsible for issuing EliteWiki accounts - you then create a page on the wiki in the relevant section stating what you've done in your OXP, but then, because the wiki itself doesn't host OXPs, you still basically link to somewhere else on the Interweb to your newly created file.

Hoping that's what you asked and that I have answered it!
