The Dream Team - Revisited

It rocks my socks in or out of water, forward or backwards, up or down, as you rightly say Sel mate ( ) it looks good, and sooner or later it'll get improved even more when there's a "pimp my Moray star boat competition"
Keep em coming!

just call it the Moray MkIII don't know what to do! I like the model as it is, but don't want to lose the accuracy!
it could be one of those urban legends (? or is it actually true?) about why the Mini has the seams on the outside ~ because someone read the blueprints backwards. maybe someone at the shipyard loaded the Moray blueprints up the wrong way

I had a play with this thing last night. Turning it the right way up raises all sorts of problems.
For one thing, simple hydronamics make the original design a bit shaky. When in water, the shape is top heavy, and the sloping front will have water sloshing up it and will compromise stability and speed.
I'll still do a version, but I'm not happy with the physics. Yeah, I know. It's a fictional universe: get over it Sel...

I vote you keep the current skin - since the skin is stuck to the vertices, you could maybe pull them about, a bit, to change the over alll shape, and issue it as a new ship. that way, it's Moray-origins are a little less obvious.
Then you could start out, reskinning the Moray from scratch, knowing what you now do.
I thought you'd put ibn a rear view window, to be honest. I do that on my ships. All the points of view on my models have a corresponding picece of glass that can justify the point of view being displayed.

And so I gave myself to God. There was a pregnant pause before He said "OK"

While waiting for my last reply to appear on my screen I incidentally looked to the bb-logo in the top left corner, and I have to say: That's the thargoid I am imagining. (Okay, you perhaps can say my imagination is poor, but still, I like it that way.)

Hmm. Coral cache can see it. I may be getting an old DNS record or some such.

@Ahruman, I'm not experiencing any problems here, I'll try uploading the image again, it might just make a difference.
@AH, I agree with you about the top, it does need something more on the it.
@TGHC, might just give that a try.
@CM, maybe we should just stick with the redux version, just playing with ideas.

The original model Moray:
I just hit on a much more realistic way of doing scratches on the paintwork. Hope you like it.
Regarding the Thargoid, I think we'll leave the texture pretty much as the redux version - I'll just play with the model and see if there's anything nice and subtle that can be done with it to busy it up. Not too much though - the Thargoid seems to have more affection than the Cobra!
