Shipdata.plist roles for rock hermits

Post by phkb »

Is it possible to stop a rock hermit from processing escape pods? I'm in the process of updating the Illegal Goods Tweak, and noticed that, if I have an escape pod in my hold, the police will escort the criminal away - on a base that is purely criminal and is about the be blown up. Seems a bit unfair, really...

Is it just a matter of adjusting the roles, or is it more complicated?

Eh, what!?
Rock Hermits are mainly mining outposts and while the folks there may have dubious morals they are not per se criminal establishments. I certainly agree that it is strange, silly even, that there is a Police presence though.
And what's with it getting blown up? Hermits are useful places, and anybody destroying them is an idiot!

Pirate Coves Opx interaction, may be?

They are created in RH and they are pure criminal... ;)

Ah, maybe. I've never had pirate coves - I seem to find enough pirates anyway.....

In the Illegal Goods Tweak a "Slaver Base" is created, based on a Rock Hermit. I need it to be fully criminal, with no police escorting captured prisoners away.

I'll check out RH and see what it's doing with Pirate coves.

You may be looking for station.suppressArrivalReports

Alternatively, set the dock to

Code: Select all

dock.allowDocking = false;
dock.disallowedDockingCollides = true;
and the player won't be able to dock at the station at all, if that's a suitable solution.

I suspect Becka would resent that implication.. :wink: :lol:
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
