Oolite On Slackw (Wolvix)
Just a quick report, but I now have fully accelerated Oolite. Here's how: 1 ) Download Wolvix (I used cub 1.0.5). See link below: http://alpha.crihosting.com/wolvix/wolvix-cub-1.0.5-beta.iso 2 ) Using the hd-installer, make standard/real install to disk. 3 ) Using GSlapt (in menus) install the follo...

Re: OXPs in Home directory
Heya folks. I'm just trying to get a little clarification on how OXPs on linux work. I currently have Oolite installed in ~/Oolite, Usually I install my OXPs in ~/Oolite/AddOns. Now, I'm considering reinstalling Oolite in a system-wide manner. Well, I have a Debian Install straight from APT. I have...

You can always make a desktop shortcut (in gnome, right click the Desktop, then choose 'Create launcher', fill in the details (Name: Oolite, Command: oolite) and do not check the 'Run in a terminal' option. Then you won't get the terminal. Of course, you won't get a log either if it crashes (althou...

Sorry if my post wasn't clear. This IS what happens by default anyway...lucabu wrote:

I am trying to have just ONE window open only -- i.e. the game!

Starting up Oolite
Hello Guys, Maybe an odd one this, but how do you suppress the background terminal when starting the game? Are there additional 'switches' I can put in the executing path of my desktop menu config? It's good for debugging/slight cheating (see ship population), but it would clutter my taskbar/desktop...

Re: Missing station
OK, I am currently in the Anarchy system of Eninre. The station is missing! Is it possible that it could be destroyed? Could a Q-Bomb do it? UPDATE: Ended up skimming the star for fuel. Odd though. Compass was convinced of where it should have been. Check for residual GalCorp envirocore energy sign...

DEBIAN OOLITE NOW AVAILABLE! ;-D
Yep. If you are using Debian Sid, Oolite 1-65 is now available through the goodness of APT.
It don't get much easier than that!

Are these filters visible on the final texture? I just ask because I know that Oolite does not support bump maps (yet). Yes. I simply opened the Cobra mk3 textures with GIMP and applied the bump map filter. This simply changes the visual appearance (more gnarly/pitted) and does not effect texture f...

Bump Mapping
Just a quickie.
I thought I'd try applying bump mapping filters to the ship textures
and a little colour/lightness changes too.
Gotta say, I feel a full cutomisation coming on...

errr... No. It's part of the ship's characteristics. You could of course mod your ship's characteristics, but that's cheating, each ship is supposed to have its strong or weak points, hence the price etc... Lol, I had a feeling about that  Nevermind, I did notice that (Xedes or somewhere) mili...
