I guess I spoke too soon, I was playing a while back, and noticed some plasma cannons missing in the external views. So what I did sort of didn't pan out. I'll look into it today, and respond later.

Time to tinker again, I guess....

Hi Guys,

I had the same problem, subentities of my Caddy kept getting shot off, with the nasty bills as result.

After a while I added 'frangible false' to the main body of my shipdata.plist, and now the problem is gone

I also use fuel injectors alot. Hit 'em from a distance, then charge 'em, get them with the plasma cannons on the side, and get behind 'em. You gotta love the Caddy... It's also smart to hit ECM when you're near 'em, they do indeed sometimes launch a hardhead when tey are close to you... Greetz, Onno.

There are indeed many ways to earn cash in Oolite. Imperative is that you buy the fuel injectors first, and stay out of the spacelanes in the beginning. With a good poor agricultural-rich industrial route your cobby will be pimped in no time. After that you can play any which way you like... Also, a...

There is an easy way to destroy a shielded pirate base;

- creep up to it.
- Fire your laser on it until the defenders come out
- Use your energy bomb to eradicate them
- Deploy the q-mine
- Run like crazy

It is a bit costly, but you'll still make a profit!
