Throw me on the list. I'm in a Serpent-Class Cruiser and it's faster to 1-shot that annoying Krait/Fer-De-Lance/Sidewinder/etc with my Kruger Battle Artillery Cannon than it is to fly past it.

You can do the Nova mission before Deposed. Deposed merely sets the mission to start if you haven't completed it yet.

I'd save Trident Down for last or do it along the way while completing the others. It's the longest one I've seen and the difficulty increases with each sub-mission.

Is that a cruiser or the regular version? I'd say go with something else if you're planning to really mix it up.

Take both, you'll need them. Especially if you're in the later galaxies when all sorts of nasties are packing hardheads.
