What graphics card do you have? NVIDIA. I wish I could tell you more than that, but Linux doesn't have dxdiag and I've yet to figure out how to get the specs of my video card (other hardware, no problem, but not my video card). $ lspci $ glxinfo | grep OpenGL You're probably using nVidia-supplied t...

Re: cannot copy and paste keyconfig.plist

So, I managed to find the keyconfig.plist file and I tried to c/p the file to the AddOns folder. I supposedly can copy it, but it won't paste. A file which can paste things? Something's not right there… […] Error stating file '/proc/10598/cwd/oolite.app/Resources/Config/keyconfig.plist': No such fi...

I've added these chapters to my .odt/.pdf pair. Various corrections have been made, including many instances of ‘your’→‘you're’… hmm, how many errors were deliberate…?

Another chapter and the contents list will require two pages…

Arms sprang from the angled box like upper body like branches. It took a little while to work that one out due to the lack of hyphenation, but I think that you meant "arms sprang like branches from the angled box-like upper body"… Anyway, I've added these chapters and made a few more twea...

I probably have to wait a long time. I normally download at about 4 minutes/Mb. 133 Mb would be about 9 hrs downloadtime with my old isdn connection. I used to think isdn was fast compared to my first modem (1200 baud) Maybe you should get a CD copy via snail-mail ;) Running the images through opti...

Another time those Thargs did attack a space bar. Somehow I preferred to get a new contract and docked. Bad decision: after a few seconds I was force-launched into a blue sphere and then asked to press space... I've seen a public asteroid destroyed by a Q-bomb once, only to have been replaced when ...

Re: Some quick questions

I'm wondering if I can contribute in a meaningful way to the coders who are improving Oolite. Probably. Optimisations & bug fixes would be preferred right now. (Or at least that's what I'd prefer. Making some method parameters pointers-to-const would be good, but that needs some testing.) I kno...

You do better than me! English is, theoretically my mother tongue (although if I said I had Geordie parents, there are some on this board who would nod sagely and sadly), the skill of the non-native-English speakers on this board to add so brilliantly often leaves me in total awe. u r so rite forin...

Re: Joystick not working properly

I'm new to Linux, so please give me some assistance. I set up knoppix on a bootable USB Stick and got the 1.72.2 OOlite to run on it. Without having done anything, knoppix and OOlite do recognize my Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold. OOlite will respond to my joystickmovements, unfortunately the right lower co...

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. Works fine, except for a slight issue with the ‘twist’ axis (but I think that that's the stick itself at fault). There was a problem with the hat not being recognised, but that quickly got fixed with a little Oolite hacking :)

I think in HHGTTG - while Zaphod was President all the decisions for the galaxy were made my an old man in a tin shack For all that I know, that might be true in your universe, but then do you really exist? Hmm. Now we see why no escape capsules were used…

.odt & .pdf updated (see .sig). I've replaced ‘decimated’ with ‘obliterated’ to match up with earlier text; I don't think that “reduced by a tenth” fits in here, somehow :)

Ayr Thistle are entering final, delicate negotiations with Cearso brewing conglomerate Skittish & Noocearso in the hope of attracting the Noocearso Brown Ale as the sponsor of choice for this fine racing team... Hmm. Seems that they've changed the name (or you've misremembered it). When I last ...
