Re: [RELEASE] Upd:ZZBBS - New ships and updates 26-06-2014
Here are some screenshots of the Tiger Trader; it is no longer the most boring trader around, might have put a bit too much detail on it, but hey this means, the rest of the ships could get a makeover soon too. Hopefully this doesn't hit the framerate too much. Greetings Thank you Thank you Thank y...

Re: What Tools Are Good For Windows OXP Programming
It looks like Gedit will remember whichever highlighting type you chose for an individual file , but not as a class. Such a feature would only be of limited use anyway, since some plists are XML, and others are OpenStep, requiring different highlighting. Hmm, this is interesting, so far I've only s...

Re: What Tools Are Good For Windows OXP Programming
For Linux there is at least CodeEditor and ProjectManager (an IDE). CodeEditor has not been maintained since April 2004, and uses StepTalk for scripting support, which has not been maintained since June 2005. ProjectManager hasn't been maintained since mid 2008. That does not bode well. Much has ch...

Re: Tiger Trader MK2
Definitively, I've been working on the concept quite a it and want to look into how I work with Blender and being able to use it with one of the existing models. The Tiger OXP has no real similarity to the FE2/3 Tiger Trader, I certainly won't make a ship with that shape as a base. Some ships like t...

Re: Calling all Raspberry Pi owners...
I also have some kind of interest to getting Oolite to run on some kind of Arm-based hardware with OpenGL ES. I only checked so far the possibility and it seems to work (and someone already seems to have done the work). The only thing I have read that SDL works fine apparently with OpenGL. Maybe tha...

plist Editor Pro for Linux
Hi,
It's a bit difficult to search for, but so far I found two Editors:
1) https://bitbucket.org/ivucica/propertylisteditor - Me doesn't like it, but it works somewhat
2) gnustep development environment
Regards

Re: oosat2 is down... [edit] ...and back up
Hi, I know it's an older thread but this seems to me the closest. So my question is not directly concerned about old OXP etc. (the current Wiki has all and more I ever could wish except one that seems to be my duty to create it ;). I'd like to know why the first game start description (probably a RE...

Tiger Trader MK2
Since the Tiger Trader of FFE was one of my most favourite ships I looked for an Oolite version of it and was disappointed by the result (the unbalanced and rare version is not really fitted what I hoped for). So here is my suggestion for the Tiger Trader MK2, created by Joist Industries : The Tiger...

Re: JI Company
I have changed the name of the company and added a link to the wiki (see headline). Be free to use the company for both the original game as well as for your own oxp creations (though I'd prefer that the ship business should be kept low).
Thanks for your feedback!

Re: VI Company
I guess it may lead to confusion. See Vector OXP and [wiki]Vector_OXP[/wiki]. This OXP ships references to a small shipbuilding company 'Vector Inc.', so I'd say Joist Industries is the way to go.-) On the other side - it's a big ooniverse .-) Smaller than you think.. Now guess who was the name fat...

Re: [BETA] Flyable Thargoid Warship
Quick question, does anyone know how to fix the view positions? Admitedly I 'borrowed' the viewing positions from other ships and tweaked them slightly to make it look mildly acceptable but I would prefer being able to see better when piloting these ships. I understand that the coordinates are rela...

JI Company
As a bow to another famous space game I'd like to add a new comany: About Joist Industries Joist Industries is the largest business conglomerate in the Galactic Co-operation of Worlds (GalCop) and an integral part of modern civilization. They are the leading company for Naval research. Joist is well...

Re: location of oolite AddOns folder on Linux ?
Hi, Except that the recommended method of upgrading to a new version of Oolite is to use the oolite-update script included with the original installation. This method avoids the possibility of the GNUstep folder being deleted. The advantage of a backup and using the GNuStep folder is that you have a...

Re: location of oolite AddOns folder on Linux ?
The statements are not all correct. For system wide installs and local installs (irrelevant) you can and should always use ~/.Oolite/AddOns for the OXP files. The reason is simple: Upon installing a new version of Oolite the ~/GNuStep folder might be deleted. This is the folder from a local install....
