As far as names go... GalCop is generally only used to refer to the police, and the Galactic Co-Operative of Worlds is for the general organisation (although the manual does slip up occasionally and mix them). My personal view is that, therefore, the name GalCop is an informal one, because (a) it so...

Wading in after a huge absence, with a random opinion... Brilliant-looking models and textures are a put-off for me, because when I looked at what I can produce I despaired, and gave up on my OXP (actually, a bigger reason is that I'm too lazy, but it didn't help). Anyway, shaders are just fancy eye...

Hmm, how accurately can you move and position ships with scripts? Those who remember TIE Fighter might recall that it handily stated what each ship was doing, if you looked, and I presume what it was really showing was the game's internal AI state. Wonder just how many of those states could be imple...

Never seen that, but it would be a good modification to make the player energy bomb work like that - still (more or less) in the spirit of the original, but more realistic. Better still would be to vastly downgrade the power of both, since I'm not a fan of weapons that a puny little ship can carry ...

I've just tested it with a ship with this bomb on board. I let the ship launch it with a script command. Impressive, it looks graphical just like the Q bomb exploding. Only the chain reaction is not happening. I had to run for it. The second time I waited to long and became barbecue myself Never se...

I would also like to see different grades of equipment so it will allow greater diversity in ships because most pirates arent going to have top of the line stuff in thier stolen and salvaged ships (some might though) What do you have in mind here? Can you give some examples? There is already at lea...

Imagine yourself running on a rough sea with shore on your lee, no suitable anchorage and unable to gain sea room, and tell me you wouldn't like to have an engine. Or on a more common situation, it's much easier manoeuvre and drop/raise anchor on a crowded anchorage if you have an engine (I can do ...

As I've said afore I'd love to see an online MMP version of Oolite. The sheer coolness of seeing my Imperial Courier appear in Captain H's sights and visa versa would be immense. If it would be allowed... There would have to be a standard OXP set required and generally agreed, and IMO the Imperial ...

Capital ships could work in the same way as the ones in the X-Wing / TIE Fighter games did - they didn't really have much more than point defences, relying on carrying lots of fighters for the offensive role (and providing an screen that the fighters could retreat to). The Q-bomb issue is a little m...
