1.69b and asteriod OXP
Just completed the asteroid mission from the OXP, using 1.69b test version.
No room for the reward bomb, and my credits were completely wiped!
Thats gratitude for you! Save the space station, and they take all your money in docking fees to help rebuild it.

That’s what you get for using out-of-date test versions. Don’t do it again. ;-)
(Seriously, though, this is a known bug that was fixed in 1.69.1.)

Normally I'm against fiddling with the inner workings, but there seems some justification for hacking back your credits as it is a bug that caused your loss. I'll just look the other way for a few moments

'Break apart'? I think your application of a Military Laser helps on that score....ovvldc wrote:What derelict ships? Everything that goes 'derelict' on me has the tendency to break apart into alloys and cargo canisters...

Quite possible. However, it would depend on your ship...Disembodied wrote:Maybe it could be possible to dock with a derelict Anaconda? You could find yourself at a "trading screen" where everything's free, free, free!
for example the cobra is 130 meters wide, while the Anaconda is only 70 meters wide... if you go by the wiki... so to dock would be impossible in that case...
Just to make this more complex.. A boa or a Boa Class Cruiser, could prolly dock because of its pointy stern... that would hit the "docking area" of the anaconda... on that note, an anaconda could prolly dock with another anaconda..
I know, i tested it, during development of the Keelback.. which i have not released yet due to current Oolite Collision Calculation "simulation" troubles.
but anything wider than say 65 meters would have hard time docking with an Anaconda

Not sure how to go about this... since i cant make anything invisible, i could make a very small face though, make it dark... so it will not lit up, however, it is going to be interesting what happens to AI ships that hits this face, while not in docking mode.Helvellyn wrote:Could you have an invisible docking bay outside but touching the Anaconda, thereby effectively providing external docking?Frame wrote:but anything wider than say 65 meters would have hard time docking with an Anaconda

maybe this could wind up over in the scripting thread... an alteration that allows ship-ship docking under certain conditions. say, like when the police start hunting you down, or when a ship is derelict, or for handing off a certain sensitive cargo during an oxp or something.
in the case of the police, if you should happen to quietly pull over and allow them to dock, you get jumped to the nearest docking facility (or astro-prison, depending), fined, and then turned loose.
in the case of the derelict ship, the cargo screen would work, that or custom screens like in that one 'wander-the-station' oxp.
an oxp specific thing, would be case-by-case. just some thoughts! =D
