I've got a SAIL boat
And it's got an engine. A troublesome engine, actually, that amidst other things made mayonnaise from the oil and spat it all over the engine compartment, leaked salt water on the bilge, lost coolant, had compression problems, burned the starter solenoid, and now that I thought I had fixed it, it blocked completely and won't budge even with a crowbar on the starter flyweel.
I'll have to remove the blasted thing (hoist the boat, crane the thing, send it to the mechanic workshop) and hope it can be fixed. And hope I can afford it...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGH!!!!!!!!

You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

But, man, how shall I put this, I mean, errrm, it's a SAIL boat. So why do you always complain about its engine? Aren't you supposed to use its, well, errr, SAILS, anyway????

It was just an innocent question. Really!!!
And BTW: I had to look that up in the wikipedia first. As I mentioned before, I have not grown up with English popular culture...+++Danger! Danger, Will Robinson!+++

Imagine yourself running on a rough sea with shore on your lee, no suitable anchorage and unable to gain sea room, and tell me you wouldn't like to have an engine. Or on a more common situation, it's much easier manoeuvre and drop/raise anchor on a crowded anchorage if you have an engine (I can do it by sail and alone, but there's always a risk).
Calms nonwithstanding, the sails are the boat's main propulsion system, and the engine just an auxiliary for the trickier parts - albeit an important one.
Yes, here too...And BTW: I had to look that up in the wikipedia first. As I mentioned before, I have not grown up with English popular culture...+++Danger! Danger, Will Robinson!+++

You do what sailors have done for hundreds of years before engines (get smashed to pieces on the rocks). Some people have no sense of fine seafaring tradition.Cmdr. Meh, Aluminium, fibreglass. Neither of them float too well on their own.

I always run aground when trying to design a nice solarship, so I'll pass while I still can.
Not that I've ever passed a Gen-ship in the night, I'm sure I'd have noticed. I mean, they're hardly difficult to see. Aren't they? Damn that Medicinal Megaweed!
