New texture for DredgerDroid aka Salvage Missle

Post by Captain Berf »

Here's an alternate texture for the DredgerDroid aka salvage missle from the Dredgers.oxp.

[Link takes you to a preview page. Make sure to use the download button or an outside click save link/target/whatever so you get the png not a jpg.]

Rename the dredgerDoid.png in AddOns/Dredgers.oxp/Textures/ and copy this file into that directory. If you don't like this one delete it and un-rename the renamed dredgerDroid.png.

Here's a link to the Dredgers OXP page. [Thanks Eric]

Here's the next installment. The Dredger Shuttle.

[Probably should have thought ahead when naming the thread.]

It would be interesting to see some in-game screenies of those.

You should be able to change this name by editing your initial post.

Is there any way of disabling the pirate spawn when you salvage a ship?

Yes - edit the OXP script. :)

Actually, thinking about this further:

Should pirate groups perhaps be added randomly weighted by system rather than a fixed 2 groups?

For example, Low-tech Anarchies have a higher chance to have more pirates (eg, 2+(0-5) whereas Hi-tech Democracies should have a high chance to have NO pirates (eg, 0 + (0-2)).

Also, based on the original manual, Space Dredgers are supposed to mainly hang around unstable worlds (anarchies, (civil) warzones, etc) - and by extension should be quite uncommon in 'stable' systems. Perhaps there should be a good chance of a Salvage Missile failing to find a SD in more stable systems. In which case, perhaps the ship can be auto-piloted to the main station for a (small?) Finders-Fee and/or sold on the second-hand market? What about integrating with Salvage Gangs as another possible destination?

The possibilities are endless ...
The glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
