Seriously DH, you do find the coolest toys from time to time, I have to admit.. 8) :D :D :D
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

You would prefer the bowler hat that Patrick Macnee wore in the Avengers television series?

Ah, but secretly it would be the bowler hat worn by the central character in "A Clockwork Orange"... (is is that "DROOGS")

If you turn your head though, wouldn't the monitor have to turn with you?

Much smaller head movements than normal are required to move the view a lot (so a full 90deg left look with your head is achieved by turning your head by less than that of the ability for your eyes to keep looking at the screen) apparently it's very strange to start with but becomes very natural - like having a very sensitive mouse setting in an FPS I guess.

A browser-based Aardvark?
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

But seriously what about real Oolite 2? What will it be?
I shot him back first. That is to say, I read his mind and fired before he would have fired on me. No, sir, he wasn't a fugitive.

I dont think any of the dev team are likely to sign up to a new oolite game any time soon. I for one work on oolite because I love the game -- I didnt sign up to become a greenfield new game developer.

In any case, we are adding new functionality to oolite so there isnt really a need for an oolite 2, it can just be 1.74.

Logically I guess oolite 2 might be a Frontier rewrite, but I am pretty sure that isnt on the cards. And if a game isnt based on elite/frontier, then to my mind it isnt oolite, and should at least have a new name (and as I expect it will also have a new dev team).
