Try installing Griff Shipset Addition 1.22.oxp.

Secondly, I can see the weapon of my Cobra Mk3 in the viewport:
21 years old eh, i too am only young, 42 years young to be exact.

The weapon issue was bugging me only yesterday as it was right under the scanner. I resolved it by going to C:\Oolite-Trunk\AddOns\Griff Shipset Replace 1.33.oxp\Config\ and opening shipdata.plist line 2745 and changing "old-cobra3-player" to "cobra3-player".

I've pm'ed Griff with regards to the weapon on screen, maybe he'll post on the forum explaining in detail. I'm hoping he's too busy working on the final station. :D

I use notepad ++ to view and edit the files. And it's free, just google it.

Oops, thanks for alerting me to this, that 'old-obra3-player' shouldn't have been in there, it looks like i've accidentally left it the final oxp after the experiments we did (see previous page) to change the startup spinning cobraIII, i've changed 'old-cobra3-player' back to 'cobra3-player' in the oxp and re-uploaded it, (it's now Core shipset Replacement 1.34 - this small edit is the only change)

I think the shipdata-overrides.plist in the coriolis-alt needs a small edit to make it work with the replacement oxp, i think it'll need a new entry to set the role of the default coriols is "unused", something like this should do the trick:
\Oolite\AddOns\griff_coriolis_normalmapped_alt_fullsize_tex_v2.02.oxp\Config\shipdata-overrides.plist

Code: Select all

{

"griff_normalmapped_coriolis" =
   {
   roles = "unused";
   };

"coriolis-station" =
   {
   roles = "unused";
   };
 }
I've made the change to the oxp (both the fullsize and half-size texture versions) and re-uploaded them (now v2.03) :D

Thank you very much for the fast response! I'm going to try the fixes and will report if they work. :D

Just a little mistake I found in the updated Coriolis station: The file is called "griff_coriolis_normalmapped_alt_fullsize_tex_v2.02.oxp3", I think that should be "griff_coriolis_normalmapped_alt_fullsize_tex_v2.03.oxp". Not really a problem, but I thought I should mention it. :lol:

EDIT: Yup, that did the trick. Now Oolite uses your alternative Coriolis station and the weapon is no longer visible. :)

thanks for spotting that, i put that 3 on the end so oolite would ignore the oxp whilst i was testing if things worked with and without the oxp installed, i fix the filename and re-upload the oxp :D

No problem. Thank you for the big effort you put into your models, they look even better than most of the stuff in EVE Online (which is a beautiful game). :D

I know that you didn't make a replacement for the Icosahedron stations and the navigation beacons (are they the same as the witchspace beacons?) yet - are you planning to do them too and is there anything else left to replace?

I would also like to contribute if this is possible. I'm not a modeller but I'm a bit of a web developer and would like to offer you the option to design, code and host a website for your Oolite related work on my webspace. This would include a domain of your choice (something like griffindustries.net would sound cool, eh? :lol:), enough space to host all your models (I have more than 20 GB available and don't use most of it) and mail accounts (again, I have too many to ever use them all for myself). It's of course paid space (I need it for various small web projects and testing) but it's a fixed price anyway, that's why I'm offering this to you - you wouldn't pay me anything, take it as a small thank you for your amazing work here. :)

Hi and welcome - I use this nav buoy, as it fits nicely with my Griff'ed Ooniverse! Yes, they're the same as the witchpoint buoy.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Thank you, El Viejo, it indeed looks great and fits Griff's models nicely. :)

Do you have any suggestions on the Icosahedron station too?

Yeah... I use the [wiki]Torus_station[/wiki], slightly tweaked so it replaces all the core Icos.

@From The Internet - Wow, that's a very kind and generous offer! :D I'm OK for web space at the moment, Cmdr. Cheyd has kindly made some space available at his DeepHorizons website to host the larger bundle OXP and box.net's free account is fine for the smaller stuff. If you'd like to use any of my models and textures in your own projects then please go ahead, they're released under 'Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported License' - although i just noticed this statement seems to have gone missing from teh readme in the resources oxp, i'll have to remember to make sure that's put back in next time there's an update!

An ICO station is on my to do list :D

Cool... is the 'radio-roid' still on your to-do list, Griff?

Yep, at the moment it's have a go at an ico station, make an asteroid radio station, slightly re-do the topside hull texture on the krait and have another go at a fer-de-lance :D

Added an alternative cobra Mk1 model as a standalone oxp at box.net
Image
I'll have a go at merging it into the all-in-one bundle a bit later one. This standalone should work alongside the original cobra Mk 1 without messing things up unlike my recent Anaconda update! :D

Niiiice!!! :D
Will you include all the other "alternative versions" (cobra mk3, coriolis, dodo, alloys and wreckage) in the all-in-one package?
