One thing you might not know, is that you can make the image clickable, ie put the [ url=http://..... ] [ /url ] tags around the [ img ] tags.
Thus my sig image goes to the Elite 25th Anniversary website.

Cheers,
Drew.
Maybe you could start a Kickstarter Campaign to found your £4500 pledge.
Thanks to Gimi, I got an eBook in my inbox tonight (31st May 2014 - Release of Elite Reclamation)!

Yes - and full of unknown, alien compounds! Eat at your own risk! BUT at least they are high in fiber, and will keep you regular.

I thought about animating it, but.... hehehe ENOUGH already! I'll just keep it... it's very low-bandwidth anyway.

On that theme - does anybody have an animation of a wireframe Cobby3 doing one full revolution ala the start of the game? If not, I'll go extract one myself but just to save me the trouble...

I am not complaining about the available selection of ship models, just mentioning that it doesn't include a BoaClassCruiser.
Now that I've written that, I wonder if there was a Pallas there??????????
Since selecting my cargo pod avatar, I've got that excellent flying saucer to work very well on my iMac, and enjoy pestering "decent folk" in the thing
(I don't think there's a Pallas avatar, but I'll zip off & have a look anyway)

I use Flickr to host photos for my
band website , and use direct linking to display individual photos as and when required.

Just did a google search;
http://elite.acornarcade.com/ims/rotate/cobra3.gif
Oddly that's the only one I could find.

It has a typo, though. It should be "Laveian", not "Lavian".

That kind of spelling issue usually comes from "convention" or "established habit", rather than any consistant rule of idiom.
Is there a (canonical) source that has "Laveian" versus "Lavian"?

“Lave is most famous for its vast rain forests and the Laveian tree grub.” The adjectival form, when used in planet descriptions, is always generated by appending “ian” to the unmodified name.
