Trunk: Thargoids now fire missiles instead of Thargons ?!?

Post by Screet »

Hi,

it looks like there have been some changes with funny effects in the trunk version.

Thargoids now fire different types of missiles instead of Thargons...

You can expect LOTS of funny things with the latest trunk versions. There must have been at least two refactoring sessions going on at the same time (planets and NPC/player missiles handling).

Enjoy bughunting ;-)

Yeah, I had fun in the past days, first I couldn't compile due to missing implementations and then Oolite had a strange bug that was causing memory overflow on almost every start, but finally I've been able to build a new version which seemed fine at first, until this strange thargoid launched photon torpedoes at me ;) I would have enjoyed if they were anti thargoid missiles, though and I was happy to ECM the launched military missiles (as they then switch their target to the thargoids which launched them) until a photon torpedo got me :D

I just tried to figure out where I should look at tomorrow, as soon as my brain got enough coffee, thus you make me pretty happy, especially since this means that I can do some oolite related stuff where I do know what and where to do ;) Thanks!!!

I foresee the infinite improbability anti-missile missile..
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
