Escort bug?

Post by Moonlight Fox »

I just encountered a group of 3 offenders which started to attack me, I targeted the lead fellow and proceeded to knock his energy down to nearly nothing. He then decided to eject (a wise decision), I then picked up his escape pod and then turned to take on the other two. before I started to open fire I noticed they were still in formation next to the now empty craft and just sitting there spinning around!

yeah, escorts dont allways respond to craft they escorts orders. i think i read somewhere that this codewise this has something todo with a bug in GroupID handling..

You will see the same effect with anacondas, usally only two or four of the 6 vessel strong escort will break to attack you...

in regard to staying in formation with a derelict ship, i think code-wise it could check for the AI of the ship, which will be "nullAI.plist" if it is derelict.. i´m not sure if it is coded that it has a specifc pilot or if this pilot is only part of escape capsules...
