I was around 16 and on a C64 when I first came to Elite. From the beginning I just was taken away by the vector graphics. And it was fast! And it was open-ended! It just felt real, completely different to any other game. (There was another game at the time using vector graphics, I forgot the title. You were stranded on a planet and had to rush through tunnels under the surface to get some gadgets to help you to get off that planet again. It just wasn't that good, and after a relatively short while I just was through it.)Selezen wrote:It would be interesting to know if there are any differences in what brought people to Elite/Oolite, especially with the wide variety of age groups.
