It's not a big deal. If the board is being maintained it doesn't matter if the thread with the attatched savedgame-files rests a while, anyone can allways pick it up whenever they want to.
While the list of OXPs is not so long, Oolite Saved Games can now be stonkingly massive - many, many times larger than the original game code for Classic Elite! And far too large to post here on the BB.
Then ask politely if it's ok to store it on the wiki. There's better version control of uploaded files there, anyway.
Your main problem would be getting anyone two around here to agree on a list of suitable OXPs.

Would anybody agree on a DosBox ElitePlus Abandonedware Savegame?
I understand that I'd need to have an e-mail (which I don't - and don't really want) to get the download.
wdym? There are lots of ways to transfer saved games, and with proper malware-detection they should be somewhat safe too. Or does it need an e-mail-address on order to acquire abandonedware?
Otherwise, I'd be happy to give it a twirl. The only thing is... my combat skills are virtually inexistent. So I'd probably murder your Jameson.
So you'll be in charge of financial strategy and you'll only get to fly if there's a corporate-state-planet in range
No srsly, i haven't played any major contemporary games but in my understanding your character can die as long as you saved the game, no?
No need to go to other websites. You can upload a save-game here or on the wiki. Cholly is just being obtuse (not for the first time).
Start a story thread in Outworlds, write a paragraph of story, "Jameson had graduated top of our class, I hated him. I overheard him say he was heading to Zaonce for his first solo flight, and I resolved to get there before him..."
Do the flight, upload the save-game, wait for someone to add the next chapter. Could take days, could take years. You won't know until you start.
Good luck, Commander!

I'm failing dismally, I'm afraid. I can't get DOSBox to do anything other than tell me that stuff (folders/Elite_Plus) doesn't exist. I tried downloading DOSBox -X which my Mac won't allow to run despite it being Intel/Catalina-compatible.
How do I get DOSBox to play Elite_Plus? (Dropping E_P onto the DB icon does nothing). I have yet to find anything on the web telling me how.

I'll need to set it up too, i haven't played dosbox in a while but it was not that counterintuitive as far as i remember. You'll need to set up some sort of c:\ drive emulation. You'll need to initialize it everytime you start dosbox, so a line in 'autoexec' is handy, where you can adjust other parameters like mixer master (the general sound volume) etc...
When you use apple make sure that you distinguish between '/' and '\', scince the latter one is dos-standard.
There. You type 'mount c: /your/games/folder' or add the line to the autoexec-file in your dosbox-folder. then you do 'cd c:\ELITEP~1\' and launch the exe-file.
Here is my savegame. My first adventure was conveying 2 tons of liquor from Lave to Leesti wich i assumed would be a profit, but, as i allready reckoned some decades ago, it's not that simple. Still i have faith in you that some experienced pilots can forge this into a kickass constrictor hunt one day
Scince the savegame is a file with three lines i will just drop it here:

Also PS: no cheating by manipulating the savegame File!
Well! I finally got the game to launch!
BUT!!
I then got this...
Please type in the word at the following location in the Elite+ Novella - 'Imprint':
(Ignore punctuation, chapter numbers and bold type)
Page i37, Paragraph 2, Line 3, Word 2:
Needless to say my copies of Imprint are reformatted from the Elite+ edition... they just have single lines for the 2nd paragraph, and there seems to be nothing on the website giving either an Imprint download or the codeword.
Stumped again!
Any ideas (it is the download from Abandonware)?
Just pressing "esc" enough times fixed that one.
BUT
When I tried loading your Jameson, I was told that the save was corrupted.
I had downloaded it as a clipping, and then changed the ending to .CDR
Next bit of fun and games!
When I tried playing with my own Jameson, I could not hyperspace out of Lave. I'd managed to select Zaonce (I think - the local cluster chart gave me the distance to it). But both "h" and "H" did nothing. Can one hyperspace when one is under attack?

Well i do not suppose it's an md5-hash. The original file was named 'O-THRASH.CDR'. Perhaps re-naming it will help.
