OK, this is actually a cool idea.Killer Wolf wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 3:30 pmMaybe they dominate/subjugate the place but keep entire planets/stations fairly intact to use as freshly stocked pantries. that would enable missions to go in and free/rescue people etc.

Re: Thargoid Worlds
Thy eminence,
I stumbled across your description of Thargoids from 2006.
Do you still recall where it originally came from? We are currently considering what Thargoid conquered systems might be like - and trying to generate images of them.

Re: Thargoid Worlds
That image I uploaded comes with an anecdote: it was created by Qwen, but not in a chat wherein we had previously been discussing Oolite or Elite. It was the chat I used to create the "colourful background images" for World Builder, which I kept separate from the one wherein we discussed the script. Previous prompts had included the words "planet" and "space station", but no mention of the specific context of Oolite, or even gaming in general. So, I selected that chat session, and typed in this exact prompt: "Thargoids! (On a black background.)"Cholmondely wrote: ↑Sun Jun 15, 2025 1:53 pmWe are currently considering what Thargoid conquered systems might be like - and trying to generate images of them.
The result you can see was its first, and only, attempt. I was quite impressed.

"Thargoid" is what they call themselves - or what we call them? If the latter... "Thargoid Home Planet" surely.Wildeblood wrote: ↑Wed Jun 18, 2025 12:53 pmTesting a dozen tries of [thargoidifier_planet_name]

This is about worlds they conquer, we don't know where their original home is.Cholmondely wrote: ↑Wed Jun 18, 2025 6:13 pm"Thargoid" is what they call themselves - or what we call them? If the latter... "Thargoid Home Planet" surely.

Re: Thargoid Worlds
So then surely we would refer to it by the old name and then mention that the Thargoids had conquered it? No?Wildeblood wrote: ↑Wed Jun 18, 2025 7:31 pmThis is about worlds they conquer, we don't know where their original home is.Cholmondely wrote: ↑Wed Jun 18, 2025 6:13 pm"Thargoid" is what they call themselves - or what we call them? Tibet is still called Tibet, not "Xizang". The West Bank is still called the West Bank, not "Judea & Samaria".

Re: Thargoid Worlds
Thargoidifier v.0.9 - ratiocinations...
Didn't see any Thargoids (but had no Telescope).
You could add some of the Thargoid Spy Satellites/Thargoid Satellite Radar Dishes from Thargoid Wars - which might then possibly summon the Thargoids!
A description on arrival might be a fun idea too.
"This station is a wreck. There is no fuel, no dockyard, no market. But a battered batrachoid meets you at the dock and asks you if you have come to buy slave prisoners. There are a number for sale through the CorCom channels."

... F8 purchase ...
"When your money has been taken and your slaves have been loaded, you are immediately launched back into space" (Code for this is in HIMSN if you need it, together with code for disabling the other GUIs).
Can you stop BryonArn's auto-refueling?
Source of picture (Norby's HDBG thread).

Re: Thargoid Worlds
Since this is a trial supposedly for use by other OXPs, I presume that the F4 screen entries will eventually be dispensed with.
