Flying around galaxy 3, I noticed that the local market narcotics price sections displayed too large values. I'm using market observer, so the mess was intensified fourthfold (is that a word?).
Digging in my savefile, I saw this:
<array>
<string>narcotics</string>
<integer>46</integer>
<integer>18446744073709551502</integer>
</array>
Chill, mon! But isn't that a rather large value?
Later, the narcotics price mysteriously reset to a proper value. But given marketobserver, it still had saved the polluted calculated average prices and diff%s, so I did edit those values (making backups of course) from the savefile. Mess was cleared. The question is: did some OXP or the native game briefly bork the narcotics price? Tionisla reported maybe? Or was the game trying to tell me something?
Oh, one other thing: Sometimes, when I attack an offender near a rock hermit, a mining ship (worm?) sets itself to hostile, without really attacking me.
"Fourfold", I think, rather than fourthfold.
BlOomberg Markets causes perturbations in the price of one commodity at a time every once in a while - and this is flagged up by
GNN broadcasts.
And Narcotics enjoys wider price fluctuations than any other commodity.
And if you are also running
Smugglers which makes narcotics legal but with many systems where it is still illegal (and hence the price is affected) this might add another multiplier.
Risk Based Economy and
Risky Business also add more multipliers depending on the system (if pirate-ridden!)
But I would guess that all these together would still be rather smaller than 1,844,674,407,370,955,150.2₢
But maybe an unknown missions oxp has also amplified matters?
However, I suspect your presumption is correct and that the Witchspace Lobster is indeed borking your markets.
At
£162 million million million you could easily pay off the US national debt (A piffling $33 million million) and have
oodles of dosh left over.
Who is paying those sorts of prices? And how can they even afford 1 measly TC of Narcotics?
