I just bought a Mosquito trader and fitted fuel scoops to it. However, every time I try to scoop a cargo container it just bangs into me.
Are some ships able to fit scoops but not pick up stuff?

I've had difficulty with the Imperial Courier, I think it has something to do with the placement of the fuel scoop.lolwhites wrote:I just bought a Mosquito trader and fitted fuel scoops to it. However, every time I try to scoop a cargo container it just bangs into me.

I'd keep with it for now, but if the number of cargo pods you destroy trying to scoop exceeds your Elite Rating, I'd trade for an easier 'scooper'.lolwhites wrote:Does this mean there's no point in getting a Mosquito trader if I want to scoop cargo containers, or have I just not got the hang of it?

"I suppose hanging one of my crew out the airlock to push the cargo pods into the scoop wouldn't help?"

Without <key>scoop_position</key> in the shipdata.plist, the scoop is put where it would be on a Cobra 3, which as you found out doesn't work out so well on oxp ships. Most authors, it turns out, just forget that little detail.
