Elite Wiki server down

Question: How do people in Slovenia/Ljubljana think of themselves? As Slovenians? As Yugoslavs? As Austrians? Or even Venetians?

From my observation (I am German): first as Slovenians, then very close to the ex-Yugoslav nations. But the latter probably heavily depends on which age group you are talking to.

Being an OAP now, Slovenia was on my revisit list, but the damn pandemic has nixed that. Lovely countryside, as I recall. Travelling from Ljubljana to Athens on slow trains via Zagreb and Belgrade, I got to see a lot of Yugoslavia.

Almost there: Anything up to two megabytes can be uploaded again. I requested to reinstate the previous upload size maximum of 150 MB.

Tried to upload an OXP today but failed, I guess the 2 MB maximum are still valid.

Unfortunately the OXP's in queue got a lot of textures and 30+ MB

OK, thanks maik, got it. So, here is what can be done to restore OXP availability until the main wiki is fixed:

1. Download this file: https://we.tl/t-kSL5XbzA2H. It is the collective OXP manifest, with all download links originally pointing to wiki.alioth.net now switched to point to maik's server.
2. Copy the file inside oolite.app\GNUstep\Library\Caches\org.aegidian.oolite (this is for Windows, use the equivalent cache locations for Linux and Mac as required). You can overwite the original file with the same name already there.
3. Launch Oolite. You can download OXPs now as you normally would

ATTENTION: DO NOT UPDATE THE EXPANSIONS LIST. If you do, then the manifests will be re-donwloaded from oolite.org and all download links will revert to the original wiki. You can update the expansion list again once the main wiki is back up online.

The above donwload link is valid for one week from the date of this post.

How about building this workaround directly into Oolite?
That means if the Expansions Manager cannot update the index by downloading from the original URL, or if the downloads fail as the wiki is not available, the Expansioons Manager could directly switch to download the index from the above given URL and take it from there?

Aye, I'm well aware of that typo. I chose not to correct it when I edited Coyote a while later.
I suspect I had The Riddle of the Sands in mind for some reason. A good read, is that.

I have sometimes wondered if that's where Bell and Braben got the name, and if that was in fact a typo too.
