If someone has an idea for a nice stroy for this ship, i have not found a nice one:
The Secretarybird is a fast ship with good energy systems and some place for cargo. That makes it popular with pirates or hunters. Further it is often used for more tricky courier jobs or passenger contracts.

I liked the look of tsoj's Chrysopelea so much I went and gave it some shader work to make it look metallic, make the lights on top flash, and introduce random colours. Since it was set up for four designs already (four different colours originally), I kept it that way but introduced four different colour schemes, each with random paint colours.

This looks great, so yes, i really would like to have these.
If its ok for you i would update the chysopelea-oxp with these texture. (Of course you would get the credits for that what you did)

Sending to you now. I've made a few more tweaks to the paint schemes, making each version have different panels coloured, e.g. the flame-nose doesn't have the centre line; the star-nose doesn't have that section next to the centre line; the pirate has only the centre line. I've also made different exhaust plume colours like Griff ships have.

Tsoj, I noticed you updated the link on your Chrysopelea post, but it's the initial version I sent you where I had some code in the wrong place that was messing up the lighting for systems not running shaders (not to mention I'd completely skipped adding shader code to one of the player versions!). I had sent you a note an hour later that I'd updated the archive to a corrected version. Make sure to download the new version so even people without running shaders can enjoy the ship properly.

I remodelled one of my ships:
Vipers are fast. Everyone wants to be fast. That is what Oojov Breelox thought when he stole the engine
from Faulcon de Lacy's next-gen Viper prototype. He had the vision that everyone can fly as fast as he wants.
He founded the Tsoojov Engineering Corporation, for short TEC, and the first craft he produced in series was
the Apep Mk II. It reaches an astonishing velocity of 440 LM and some technically versed pirates even tuned
the engine to reach about 450 LM. With these specs, it would be a very popular choice for hunters, assassins,
pirates, and couriers, wouldn't it be for the materials needed to build a copied Viper engine. The hard
process of finding these today make this ship a rare sight.

You have some great looking ships here, is it just me or are they not available in the expansion pack manager and the ship list ? It would be a pitty, a package of your ships, maybe with different textures, would be a nice addition to Oolite.

Very nice ships! I added a "gloss = 0.7" value to the TEC Apep materials to make it shinier.

a very simple re-texture before lunch, a little brighter and some blue Actually I think 3 front-lasers would look cool, I could assign them for you. My personal favorite from the ships I checked here is the Chrysopelea, great model and great textures.

I uploaded these ships now to the expansion manager.
I assume with 3 front lasers you mean the two extra stubs right beside the main laser? When I have time I can take a look at this, I would then use a slightly different 3D-model to make the ship variants with 3 front lasers vs just one front laser visually distinguishable.
If you send me the texture you made I can try to use it for different texture variants of this ship.a very simple re-texture before lunch, a little brighter and some blue Actually I think 3 front-lasers would look cool, I could assign them for you. My personal favorite from the ships I checked here is the Chrysopelea, great model and great textures.

I converted to photoshop so hopefully you can use it. Please keep in mind that it just was ment as a sample, so I invested only around 10 - 15 min in this layers. I guess within this week I could offer some better job.
Regarding multi-lasers:
Since Oolite 1.83 shipdata.plist offers the option of http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Shipda ... mount_mode so its pretty simple to assign 3 front-lasers. For NPC ships I sometimes use subentities so you got 1 powerful main-laser plus 2 additional mounts for weaker lasers. The stubs would serve fine for that but I admit that, while not necessary, a modification of the model would look better.
