This thread is dedicated to all ship builders with incomplete ships or newly released ones. please feel free to fill it with images of your creations... To start it off, here is a `Hauler P30` I am working on and a `Thargoid Hunter` that I am working on and should be released soon. The Hauler is at the scripting stage and the Hunter still needs to be textured.

just to get an idea of scale: the top front section of the Hauler p30 is the same size as a cobra mk3
That Thargoid Hunter of yours looks very similar to something I was thinking of a while back. 'Twould have been an NPC with turrets mounted on the ends of each of the three prongs, with a respectable amount of speed, although not too much in the way of shields/energy. I wanted to see what would happen in a battle against ships with multiple forward facing turrets. Needless to say, I never got around to making it, but shape-wise, I imagined it looking remarkably like that!
I would like my hunter to have four lasers, one centre and one on every wing... but I have no idea how to do that, I tried searching through other ships shipdata.plist's that I knew had multiple lasers but no luck. so the idea is prbably quite similar to yours, unfortunately I cannot even claim that this was my idea in the first place , I found it for free on `turbosquid` along with several other 3d models. It took about an hour to slowly reduce the polygon count from 15,000 to 500, then just to top it off the texture wouldn't work properly (hence the uneven joins)
Multible lasers are done via subents. Each subent has a laser assigned to it in the shipdata, and the subents are pointed towards where you want the lasers to fire.
WIP:
Those four pods aren't torpedoes, they're the engines. This thing is big, about the size of a Python.
The idea I have for this thing is that it was origionally marketed to the Navy as a corvette or escort destroyer, and was rejected, so it got a quick redesign as a medium freighter.

@ switech, that would probably look better to watch it shoot
@ Cmdr Wyvern, why is it that npc ships have multiple lasers, but if I add an extra ship, set to 'like ship: npcshipname' and make it player flyable it no longer has multiple lasers?
Because player ships can't have multiple lasers, duh. You'd probably have to use a NPC version with multiple lasers and a player version with a single laser.
I return my token effort to its rightful place - and will not mention Lasers at all...
Well - ages ago I designed a little pod ship, a one man repair ship, I originally conceived it to be working around the entrance of a main station with some stellar traffic cones (which I also designed) and some "Go slow" signs (based on the YAH ads) - but as I never got to grips with normal mapping, or AI and the stations just got better and better, in my tests it looked more and more out of place so I canned the whole project. I was quite pleased with the series of flashers I placed on the tips to make it look like it was welding but other than that I sadly never got anywhere...
[and having looked on my machine I don't seem to have the .dat files, just the .obj files ]
that looks cool, a beat-up version is something CmdrMcL's salavage gang could have.
obviously the lack of DATs isn't a prob, you can just run the OBJ2DAT Python script to gen new ones.
