The Krait's SpinIonic TP14 drive motors and laughable Ergon laser should not pose any serious threat to Mostly Harmless Commanders.
With such poor deLacy shields a Krait is seldom seen alone. This ship is obsolete!

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Re: Screenshots
I expect you saw this coming but without the chevron on the topside (in both aegidian's and the even originaler 1984 incarnation), it can't be the original: there's not just somethings added (and very nice they are), there's something missing.

I think the new ED version is the MkII or something.
When I saw the design previews I wan't impressed but I must admit, it's growing on me.

Re: Screenshots
OK, so it's the more-original-but-not-original-original version.

Glad we've cleared that upSmivs wrote:OK, so it's the more-original-but-not-original-original version.
Re: Screenshots
Actually i see some similarities between the new E:D Krait MK II and the current Oolite Krait. Like the engines and or the topside edge that is kindof extruded.

Re: Screenshots
I have just released version 2.0 of my Dangerous HUD which now has a much cleaner layout!
(the screenshots in that thread are out of date but I plan to update them as well as to create a wiki page for this HUD shortly)

scuffed mussurana as pirate
grey trader mussurana
When moving ships around in the shipyard, energy and recharge are changing values?

Re: Screenshots
Is this to do with extra equipment?
The template has
and
which apply to all four versions - player, hunter, trader and pirate.
The hunter in your screenshot would have shield boosters and perhaps extra energy units, but it is not normally a player-buyable variant so should not be appearing in the shipyard at all.

Code: Select all
max_energy = 200;

energy_recharge_rate = 4.75;

I am so used to using the gallery.oxz I called it the shipyard.
So the different energy/recharge values occur when moving a ship found in the gallery.oxp/oxz

Re: Screenshots
Every time you encounter another variant of a ship it will be saved at the gallery. This include different weapons, equipment, painting and even a different key in the shipdata.plist. I think I have now around 58 variants of the Cobra Mark III there

Re: Screenshots
gsagostinho's ships take immediate advantage of the new specular methods, since they depend on the default game shaders. Unfortunately, the pictures cannot show it how it really is. You have to see those reflections traveling across the ship's body...

Re: Screenshots
The Staer9 ships and the Griff Boa have received the new shader treatment in my install. The Griff Boa in particular has always looked great, but with the new lighting it is out of this world.

Re: Screenshots
Well a quick upgrade to 'vanilla' trunk 1.87 gave me the following....
aaargh
But after changing GGX from 0 to 1 in the default shader and a reboot...
pfew
Yes, superhub does it too
Mussurana does it again beautiful , but some like the grey cruiser do not show much...
Aaah the atmosphere is back, overall it seem everything is a bit lighter and there seem to be a slightly bigger difference
in the lighted and nonlighted parts of objects...
I feel a little performance hit on everything, reacting a tad bit slower on keyboard commands, still 40/50fps.
Very nice indeed
