Snag is it's usually surrounded by a clear spherical force field, which I'd imagine would be a problem.
It was supposed to be a police ship. Maybe an NPC ship, an occasional alternative to Vipers?

It's a ship - I don't have actual dimensions, but you can get an idea by watching the walk-through video. The other video shows how it flies. This is a still (I think from the walk-through) that gives an very rough idea of scale
