Plasteel Maiden and ExOOdus publish a split album!

Post by Thermonuklear »

ExOOdus, the Lave-born scrap metal masterminds behind the classic albums "Bonded by Quirium" and "Docking Disaster" returned to the studio right after touring The Eight with their best buddies Plasteel Maiden, the energetic power-alloyers from Geinona. Check out their new hit singles here!

Plasteel Maiden - Elite, Fly!

There goes the siren that warns of the Thargoid
Then comes the tremble of guns sending flak
Out for the scramble we've got to get airborne
Got to get up for the coming attack

Jump in the cockpit and start up the engine
Remove all the grav-clamps there's no time to waste
Gathering speed as we head down the runway
Gotta get airborne before it's too late

Running, scrambling, flying
Rolling, turning, diving, going in again
Running, scrambling, flying
Rolling, turning, diving
Run, live to fly, fly to live, do or die
Won't you run? Live to fly, fly to live
Elite, fly!

Move into fire at the mainstream of bombers
Let off a sharp burst and then turn away
Roll over, spin round and come in behind them
Move to their blindsides and firing again

Thargoids at eight o'clock move in behind us
Ten dozen Tharglets out of the sun
Ascending and turning our Cobras to face them
Heading straight for them I press down my guns

Rolling, turning, diving
Rolling, turning, diving, going in again
Rolling, turning, diving
Rolling, turning, diving
Run, live to fly, fly to live, do or die
Won't you run? Live to fly, fly to live
Elite, fly!

ExOOdus - Thargoids

Slicing jaws, a way of life
Brought up to waste mankind
Loki's pets his little children
Deadly every time

Hiding in Witchspace, gates of Hell

Don't ever: let them out
For if you do and they escape
You'll fight a bloody bout

The Tharg kill in a pack - you'll run
The Tharg start to attack - you'll done
If you think you can beat - deadly school
If you think you can live - you're a fool

Galcop troops are old and worn
They tumble and they fall
Out rush a bloody wall of death
To kill anything at all
Their sole mission is to kill
Strip your bones and flesh
Rip out your eyes tear off your face
An agonizing death

The Tharg kill in a pack - you'll run
The Tharg start to attack - you're done
If you think you can beat - deadly school
If you think you can live - you're a fool

Not much of an effort. Metal lyrics convert almost with ashaming ease to Oolite themes. "Piranha" could easily tell about Thargs; Merciless destroyers leave nothing alive. "Aces High" was even easier. After changing a few keywords here and there, It's almost like reading Oolite fanfic! :D

I do agree on many levels, but it's also the song. The songs I have the easiest time with is heavy rock, rock ballads, western ballads (like Eagles stuff). Else the song has got to have a certain sound, theme or rhythm to it that works with a combination of Oolite based words - "I fly an Anaconda, Anaconda, no Adder...". But sometimes a muse hits with a song you know that can be turned into something - "Credits for nothing and your ships for free" :)
