That would be the fabled world of Ascension, whereupon live some highly enlightened and evolved beings..another_commander wrote:What's an Ascention?
@ jeffron.. I suspect it was removed from the latest version of Famous Planets.
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
Re: Ascention
why precious why why? You can't just destroy a planet, it'd take more firepower than I've ever.... some copyright thing probably huh? I wish I still had old oolite... maybe I do on a zip drive somewhere..
Tell me again why I've got to drink three pints?

Oh, it wasn't destroyed.. it just went back to using its' real name and statistics..
Nothing so drastic.. see the thread I linked to with the word "removed" for the details. (see also the thread Commander McLane linked to with his "it's not really a secret anyway" comment in that thread for more details)jeffron wrote:some copyright thing probably huh?

If you can't find it, I'm pretty sure I still have it around. One of my commanders visited Ascension recently, in fact..jeffron wrote:maybe I do on a zip drive somewhere..

Re: Ascention
I see the point if it was an unfinished project. I had the experience that it was there when I first started playing, and it had an aura of mystique about it that was exiting. Going there felt like it did coming out here to Hollywood, like you weren't sure what was going to happen and you're pretty sure you'll stick out like a sore thumb... So, just by virtue of existing in my experience added alot to the game. I'm however all for leaving it out if that's the plan and those are the reasons. This is by no means a complaint.
