Courteous ordinance.

Post by D'an »

I fired a missile at a distant Python during some heavy combat and later got around to shooting the said Python only to get a "thank you" message from my missile.

That's more than you get from most GalCop law enforcers :)

Sentient missiles are sort of scary. However, I've been thanked by the Police once or twice. If only they knew...

That is hilarious! A grateful, polite missile.

BTW, I have often been thanked by cops when I "help them out". (Really, I am just trying to steal their kills to rack up more creds and increase my rating.)

The missile thing is a known bug; I think Giles has said the fix will be part of the “character” code that’s currently part-done.

Yeah. I'm working on it. Got to remember some things should not have crews!

Aw. I rather like it. :( I think the courteous missiles should stay.

But when the missiles start to say, "You're endangering the mission, Dave", and, "I'm sorry, Dave. I can't do that", then I will start to get concerned.

Especially since my name isn't Dave.

As long as they don't quote Space Corps directives, I think we'll be fine :D

I LOVE THAT! Where do you get these? If the missiles keep talking, or talk moer, I'd be happy.
There is something deeply, deeply wrong with me, and I intend to find out what it is, as soon as I'm done burning this cat.

It's not something you GET. It is technically a bug.

As the first post in this thread states, it is something that can happen when you fire a missile, and then destroy the targetted ship before the laser gets to it. (I have never done this myself.) It is apparently a "bug" caused by code intended to make ships thank you when you help them in a fight.

"Ordinance" is just another term for missile. It's the military term. These are just ordinary missiles we are talking about.

I mean Directives. I'm not awake to day.
