If you're on PC there's a great freeware Thrust remake called Thrust Xtreme

doesn't properly support widescreen monitor resolutions so things look a bit stretched in widescreen but it's a lot of fun
Wow, this is the best Thrust remake I've played! Only downside is that the H-stretched text is quite difficult to read(not that there would be much to read). Nothing playing in letterbox mode won't fix... Anyhoo, lots and lots of fun! It's been ages since I've been this thrilled about setting a new highscore :D

Oids on the Atari ST was a regular fave of mine, elements of Thrust and Asteroids

If you liked Asteroids, you could play [EliteWiki] Asteroids3D... in your own ship, within the Ooniverse. It's excellent!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Can't get it to work on Win7... It crashes back to desktop even before writing the thrust.ini that is mentioned in the readme. Editors start fine... Anything special I need to configure? Or could someone post their thrust.ini?

I spotted this in the thrust xtreme comments maik, not sure if it'll help if you use it alongside Thermonuklear's ini file above
Q. "Finally, I am having trouble running “Thrust Xtreme.” I can download it OK, and unzip it, but when I try to run the executable, the computer thinks for a bit, then nothing happens. I would appreciate your help."

A. "Why Xtreme does not start for you is strange but it might have something to do with video modes. Check the .ini file and modify the screen res and refresh settings to something you KNOW should work… Good luck!"

I already set the resolution in the file, but there is no screen refresh rate in Thermonuklear's thrust.ini. Do you know the key to add for this?

no I don't sorry :( the ini file on my pc looks just like the one Thermonuklear posted
It's a long shot but have you tried right clicking on the exe and going into properties, then the compatibility tab and tried some of the options in there?
