I'll ask my buddy what series he raced/s in over there. He (sometimes) lives near the Atlanta circuit, but races all over in his 'Historic' race cars.

My brother-in-law is currently restoring a 1.6 Mk 1 Capri... (he has been for `10 years though!)

A good friend of mine has an Mk 1 Escort with slightly overbored 1.6 Kent block from a Capri.
He's been building it for the best part of last 20 years, while having her registered and in road condition almost without break.
Latest addition is a pair of side intake Webers.
I got to drive "the Escert" at his wedding, me being bestman & chauffeur for the lovely couple at the occasion .
