I have a high-res version of the HIMSN crest somewhere (500x500px if I remember correctly). I'll track it down and let you have it.
Thank you. Yep, that titanium is very close. If you look at things made of titanium, and especially cars that claim to have a titanium paint-job, there also seems to be a littlebit of brown in there. Almost a dusty/dull version of the grey/blue you referred to.

How about #8B8386 / 139 131 134 ?

It's certainly caught the imagination, hasn't it? Should we ask that it is moved to Expansion Pack and titled as a WIP?

You should have that Coyote's Run main.js now, Gimi. Try torus-ing through those 'roids.
The OXP itself is sort of broken by the new 'replace' thingy for Griff's shipset, btw.

Yep, that's what I imagine. Look at this page and you will find a whole set of colours. We can go with all those giving some choice, but keeping #8B8386 dominant.

Not yet please. I can't make this, and even though there are quite a few people involved, I think we should wait until we get closer to production.

The Military Anaconda supply ship however, will have it's full cargo space, and will have to rely on a small escort for protection. If destroyed, it should drop ONLY food, arms and medical supplies (narcotics). So not a very profitable ship to attack for a clean trader.
:?: Both firearms and narcotics are very profitable. (If you're in a system where narcotics sell for over 100Cr narcotics are the most profitable commodity.) So these ships would be very attractive for pirates.

Perhaps attacking them would have to carry a big bounty, which would make them unattractive for someone who wants to stay clean. But selling loot never carries a bounty, so that would not make them unattractive.

Attacking or killing a military ship (unlike attacking the police) does not make the attacker an offender or fugitive by default. So this would have to be taken care of by script.
I did say unattractive for Clean traders.
I'm not sure that I understand the distinction you're trying to make with the word 'clean'. My commander is clean all the time. He is clean when he attacks other traders, he is clean when he attacks navy ships, he is clean after he killed them, he is clean when he scoops their cargo, he is clean when he delivers this cargo to a station, and he stays clean when he sells his loot. Nowhere in the whole process is there any risk of not staying clean, because none of these actions are able to affect a commander's legal rating and bounty in any way (provided the police don't watch the initial attack).

Or do you mean 'law abiding'? Then I'd say that somebody who abides the law even if nobody is watching wouldn't attack another ship anyway, regardless of attractiveness and potential profitability.

I have been thinking about giving the Navy a very, very long memory concerning any hostile action against them. If the player chooses to attack a Navy ship, the Navy basically never forgets. You will have to ditch your ship to fix it. Not sure if that is possible though.
This is absolutely possible. Setting a variable that makes all naval ships attack the player on sight when he has attacked any of them before is easily doable. It would be part of the standard naval ship script, which the ships will need anyway.

Sort of... :P And he's the one not really interested in the development of all this (oh, the irony!).

But blame me anyway. I think I've been blamed for worse things. 8)

Agreed... leave it as is, for the moment.

See, there's the dull and dusty, grey and brown again ... what's wrong with bright and shiny? I think people want to be able to see a fleet in the distance, and say, "Hurrah! It's Her Imperial Majesty's Space Navy riding to the rescue!" and wave their hats in the air: not peer at some smudges and say "Um ... are those asteroids?" "Are what asteroids? I can't see anything ...".

Silver would be good, if metallic effects are possible. Or even steel-blue would be OK, with enough bright highlights. But what's wrong with, say, a vivid fire-engine, arterial O2-breathing mammal blood red as a base colour? Or even white? There are all these great models out there that end up as muddy grey on a black background. Why do you think the Thargoids are winning the war? Because they have jazzy ships, that's why! :D

Metallic silver or suchlike, yes. A big no-no for the red though!

I meant clean. (I consider the fact that you can dock with slaves, narcotics and arms without receiving a bounty on your head a bug.)
My thought was that, essentially it is illegal to trade in Narcotics or Arms. I know you won't get a bounty on docking (without an oxp), but still. So, if you are in a system where the prices are high, yes, you'll make a good profit. If you have to dock refuel and jump to another system to get a good price, it might not be worth your while. With the way prices for narcotics and arms fluctuate there is always an element of uncertainty.
These are not the most compelling arguments though, but make for consistency I think.

We disagree on this. Making it metallic shiny, yes. Red, blue, heavy contrast colours, nope, not for me. Hopefully the markings will make up for some of the dullness.

I was hoping this would turn into something more to your liking McLane, so I would value your input very much. I have scaled things down considerably compared to where I started (which was a way smaller presence than GN in the first place). Ships larger than your standard ship-set are now down to 20 in total (16 behemoths and 4 smaller spec ops assault ships). As for stations, I'm not sure yet, but probably no more than 2-4 in each galaxy + 2 or 3 in interstellar space.
