Lovely work there, Storm. A new "Dream Team" in the making.

Looking forward to seeing the textures.

Thanks guys. The Sidewinder has (after triangulation) 868 faces, 432 vertices. Hopefully this isn't too high for rendering in game!

That Sidewinder is a neat ship, plain and simple, and what you did with it looks great, Storm.

Cool saucer. Almost triangular... which reminds me somewhat of one of the saucers back in the X-Files. A quick internet search led me to this: http://godssecret.wordpress.com/2009/06/08/2526/

Whilst on the topic of saucers... the Thargoids have been busy...

I am envisioning the central core of the ship in two halves moving up and down in opposition to their counterpart. Kind of like the middle of the Tardis console in Dr Who. :)

A new Thargon attack drone - the first model I've done not based off the original ship. Does make me think of the Shadow fighters in Babylon 5 though.

Interesting, though I don't believe a word of it.

That ship YOU are making, though, is incredible. Really nice job, Storm. Keep us updated, for sure. :)

Which one? I designed it from scratch, but it is probably similar to something else :)

It's a cool ship. Are you going to release it for Oolite? Seems like it's getting harder all the time to find a unique design, but I think you have one there. :)

It's only the basic model with textures, I don't know yet what to write in the shipdata.plist, the engine glow isn't at his right place, I don't know how to add shaders, etc. Maybe when I'll learn this stuff :)

Are you checking out the "OxpHowTo" Wiki? It's a huge help. http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/OXP_howto

Right Im bothering the boards a little again, having tired again of playing with the regular ships Ive dusted off the old fiction and the oxps I put together and never released.

Whilst reading through my old fiction I realised the ship featured was actually a mk2 version of the ship I had included in the OXP, not the ship in the old OXP... (The old polygon limits forced a ship appearance which I wasnt too happy with before, hence the ship in the fiction got the MK2 designation instead)

as described in the original Kintari ship thread here:- https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?f= ... it=kintari The Kintari ships suit their feline heritage they are fast agile and deadly on the offensive, and lightly armoured suiting a heavy alpha strike and relying on reflex's to evade damage. They can not take a prolonged beating.

To that end the ship is a medium "trader", slightly slower than a wolf, bigger and more agile than a cobra, The energy ratings are low, theres a single missile pylon, and no side lasers.

I feel the ship would suit the up close forward laser brawler pilot, who relies on fast reactions and a good sense of direction to mix it up in a furball whilst evading the enemy.

The fiction with a photo of the cockpit interior can be found here:-

https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?t=6307

Anyway for not too many more polygons here is the Kintari Trader MK 2 This is supposed to be Nathans ship from the fiction.

Heres the old MK1 Kintari trader for comparison:-
