A link is at the bottom of the... who guessed... the YAW page itself.
Now who would have thought to look there.

How should we interpret that cryptically terse remark; as, "I am losing interest in Oolite," or, "I am changing ISP"?

I get the impression that it's more or less permanent (No intention of speculating as to why). Hence my little initiative to ensure availability of his work just in case.

I have all the ones I listed, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are more. A few of them are probably test OXP's. The Starsoarer is OK, as it's a release and has it's own Wiki page. The Neolite ships is 32 MB and the Neolite Navy (unfinished I think) is 30MB. They are too big for a free BOX account (25MB limit).

Feel free to upload and update the Wiki. I'm just worried that they are going to disappear.

I see I sparked a flurry of downloads - nothing has changed, so if you have the oxp already you have the latest version.
That folder has been make global - so you can upload improved versions if you want. Ask before replacing files completely.
Patch files are acceptable.

Just navy left to do. That's another big one.
The neolite core package has split in two - you need to unzip neolite-textures, and move all the png files into the neolite.oxp Textures folder for the special effects to work.

Hi Simon - I'm in the process of updating the Neolite packs for retexture reorganisation and will upload them to your Box account as seperate downloads and add another section to the Neolite wiki page for them when done (probably tomorrow morning now).

There will be a Neolite-ResourcesA.oxp and Neolite-ResourcesB.oxp containing the textures, shaders and models (split to get round the Box file size limits) and then a Neolite-Core-Replace.oxp and Neolite-Core-Addition.oxp just with the Config info. One will replace the core ships and one will add the Neolite ships as extra to the core set. I've also fixed a minor bug in the non-shader mamba texturing and renamed a couple of models that were overwriting core models.

I'll also update Neolite Companions so it can be standalone, and if necessary (haven't checked yet) Wolfies.....also need to double check if the neolite variant sidewinders for YAH are dependent.

All will be labelled as version 1.1

I'm just on your Box page now (and logged in) and it doesn't look like I've got an option to upload.......I think making it Global just lets people see the list of files and you need to actively invite collaborators.

Edit to add - OK companions 1.1 is done and ready. Wolfies and the YAH sidewinders are fine as they are although I may convert Wolfies from XML. If necessary I'll upload them to my box account as a temporary measure.

Neolite 1.1 has been uploaded to my box account. I've updated the http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Neolite_Ships with a link and some install notes for Simon's Neolite box page and also added an additional section with the download links and install notes for Neolite 1.1.

Thanks people - that takes the pressure off.
I have a backlog of designs and got distracted trying to learn the source code.... and life getting in the way too.
Been playing with smooth shapes but nothing for production.

Very nice to see that my old "Variants" are still living on in the Neolite OXPs. :)

It would be nice, however, if the readme files in the 1.1 packages mentioned where the original concepts come from, even though Simon B. redesigned them into something far superior. ;)

Fair enough - I'll add it to the list. Usually people just recognize them.

It's been ages since I've been active, so the request is just a little fatherly sentiment.

But, I do intend to install Oolite on my computer one of these days when I have the time and see what's changed over the last couple of years... :)
