Hypercargo OXP from Thargoid....
Hi
I've put this OXP in my add-on directory but so far it hasn't featured on the available equipment list in any of the planetary systems I've visited so far.
Can anyone advise me whether I have to find a higher Tech level to get it - nothing in the ReadMe file nor a search of the boards has given me an answer.
Thanks in advance and thank you for writing thsese Add-Ons.

I think I might have a wider issue. Target Reticule no longer works either. I wanted to put a new HUD in the Add-On file that I saw already has Target Reticule's functionality (MiHUD 4.0) but decided the message typeface was too small so wanted Target Reticule back.
After I put it back in the Add-On folder it doesn't appear in-game at all. Sigh...

I think you'll have to re-purchase the kit... heh.NostalgicValue wrote:After I put it back in the Add-On folder it doesn't appear in-game at all.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

I already had purchased it. Something I did stopped it working. No worries after some deletion and reinstallation of Oolite it's back up and running.

Tech level 13 for Hypercargo. Apart from the small type, what else did you like or dislike about MilHUD?NostalgicValue wrote:Can anyone advise me whether I have to find a higher Tech level to get it - nothing in the ReadMe file nor a search of the boards has given me an answer.

Thanks Wildeblood.
I thought it looked the layout looked pretty good although I couldn't see the crosshairs at all, just a slightly grey circle where they would/should have been - I can't rule out a problem with my eyes though.
I might give it another try when I get my new reading glasses.

It might rather be a simple matter of aesthetic taste - it's precisely this disk I had posted about before. Although it strikes me as obtrusive and sometimes irritating, and I'd very much like to lose it, most people seem to feel that the feature is helpful.NostalgicValue wrote:I thought it looked the layout looked pretty good although I couldn't see the crosshairs at all, just a slightly grey circle where they would/should have been - I can't rule out a problem with my eyes though.

You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

What disk? What post? Are you referring to the "contraster" patch? If so, have you tried this? (Now for a bit of shameless self-promotion...)Cmdr. MilHUD 4000
"M4000 comes with a variable brightness high-contrast centre patch which can be adjusted on the fly from within the game, with no need to shut down Oolite, edit configuration files, and re-start the game."
Re: Hypercargo OXP from Thargoid....
To go back to the original question for a moment - first place to look is in the latest.log file (it should be inside your oolite installation directory under oolite.app/logs). Open that with a text editor of your choice and in amongst the information should be details of OXPs and scripts that are loaded when the game last started up.
If nothing is showing up there, my first consideration would be that you've accidentally moved or slightly renamed the AddOns directory, so that the game engine no longer sees it. If not that then also confirm that the OXPs within that folder are installed directly (each is in its own folder whose name ends in .oxp).
Just to confirm - are any OXPs working? Or is it just target reticule and HC that are failing?

Re: Hypercargo OXP from Thargoid....
Target Reticule is working fine now after I re-installed Oolite and the OXPs I had. I guess I did something to stop it working while checking out the MilHUD 4.0. Could I suggest that on the next version that the text be enlarged and then I might feel more comfortable using it?
I'm still fairly new to Oolite and when I posted my question I'd only visited Tech 12 planets and didn't know I had to go to Tech 13 planets for Hypercargo. It wasn't in the ReadMe file so I was wondering whether I'd installed it wrong. I still haven't been to a Tech 13 yet but when I do I'm confident it will be there now.
So everything is OK now, thanks for everyone who replied. if I do have other questions I'll either find an archive thread to look for answers or post a new topic.

The zoomable Vector pdf maps on this page are very useful for plotting routes and finding systems of certain tech levels.NostalgicValue wrote:I still haven't been to a Tech 13 yet
