I want blue flashers on GalCops, medical ships and escape pod rescue ships. And equivalents such as the Commie Police equivalents.
In an ideal ooniverse, they should only be on when chasing something, but if they are on all the time, that's OK too.
If medical ships have green flashers, that's OK.
Good idea?
If someone could post the necessary lines of code to add to the necessary ships.plist files, then I'll add them myself.
Or is it really tricksy because of the need to work out the quaternions of their locations?

Police ships already have blue (and magenta) flashers which are active when they are in pursuit mode. The only 'medical' ship is the moray medical boat and of course these are famous pirate fodder and probably wouldn't want to advertise their presence too much - although they are painted bright red which is hardly discreet!

They do? It must be because I have the graphics options turned so low that I don't see that.Smivs wrote:Police ships already have blue (and magenta) flashers which are active when they are in pursuit mode.

Of course it also depends on which police ships you have installed via OXPs.SandJ wrote:They do? It must be because I have the graphics options turned so low that I don't see that.Smivs wrote:Police ships already have blue (and magenta) flashers which are active when they are in pursuit mode.
All Viper variants sport flashers and always have. Perhaps you should get a little closer while they chase you in order to see them. Two broadsides of them, to be precise.

One thing that was wrong in the past -in my opinion- was that those flashers used to be initially on when added to the system. Only in august 2009 the route1patrolAI was changed that police started with flashers off. And with the new flasher definition you can also define flashers to be start in the off mode, what happens to oolites native vipers. I have no idea how that is with most of the oxp vipers.Smivs wrote:Police ships already have blue (and magenta) flashers which are active when they are in pursuit mode.
So, flashers on police are not that noticeable as in the past. Unless you are often in combat with them yourselves.
