That's fine - set a date for next year - happy to put it in the calendar - but remember this one's set in stone because it's designed so we can meet up with Nikos (Another_Commander)

I'm sorry, it was said in jest. I thought the point of having the get-together in December was to make it in the holidays when most people are available.
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

I have both the Friday & the Saturday (16th & 17th) noted in my calendar; so far I'm free on both.
Looking forward to it
PS. Has a venue been decided on yet? If not, might need sorting soon-ish depending on whether we want to reserve a table or just Trumble up to a bar.

The glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Likewise it's also in my calendar, and I'm also determined to make this one (having had to miss the previous one but having joined the one before that).
The Friday I think would be a little easier than the Saturday given the proximity to Christmas, but I should be able to make either date.
I would also say some sort of reservation might be better given the number of people potentially involved, but again it might have to cross swords (or lasers) with the xmas crowd.

As above, I've got those days noted down so will be aiming to come along.
And remember, Oolite isn't just for Christmas so there's no reason for people not to meet up at other times as well.

I was lucky enough to meet up with A_C and Kaks a couple of months ago, so you're right.Ramirez wrote:As above, I've got those days noted down so will be aiming to come along.

(And I try to meet up with Drew every six months or so, but have failed for the best part of this year...)

@Daddyhoggy - I can take a hint you know, you didn't need to knacker your arm just to avoid me!
I definitely can't make the 17th, but the 16th looks good to go.
Cheers,
Drew.

Hi guys, sorry about the delay in answering, but we do have a venue:
The Coach and Horses, corner of Great Marlborough & Poland Street is available on Friday the 16th, unfortunately Saturday is a bit of a problem already..
It's provisionally booked for 15-20 people (I'm under the impression there might be more people than last year... ) and shamefully I haven't yet looked at the available menus (regular and/or Christmassy), but as long as we let them know within a reasonable amount of time, they can sort us out.
Some of you might notice it's the same venue - & basically the same deal - that we had last year...

Have you got a postcode for that, to help with Google Maps etc?
Editted to add - forget that, as I had to Google something else:
1 Great Marlborough Street, Soho, London, W1F 7HH
020 7437 3282
Nearest tube Oxford Circus.

Here's a link to the pub on the excellent Beer In The Evening website.
Oh and I doubt I'll be there, but have one for me!

Yay. Daddyhoggy and I walked from Bank to there last time as the tube was knackered. A reasonable stroll as I recall, not added by the dodgy GPS on my phone!
If anyone is coming from the City end of town, a pre-meet rendezvous may be in order...
Cheers.
Drew.
