Fuel Injectors Destroyed

I've just seen something confirmed that I was fairly convinced I'd seen on a couple of occasions before. The message "Fuel Injectors Destroyed" is reported on screen, but the injectors remain fully operational. The F5 screen also shows them as undamaged.

I don't think I can reproduce this. I tested by running the following line in the debug console:

This destroys the Fuel Injectors two seconds after the command has been executed in the console. I tried normally and with injectors in use (which is why it had to be run like above from the console, so that I have time to Alt-Tab to the game and press "I"), but in both cases the injectors were damaged normally and were reported as damaged in the status screen. Are you sure there was no any equipment repairing OXP involved?

Hi AC.

Definitely no auto-repair involved. My suspicion was that it was something to do with the injectors being in use at the moment of damage (I think I'd activated them a moment before), but your test may suggest otherwise.

The first time I noticed this I assumed I'd made a mistake, mis-read the message or something, but it's happened at least three times now, so I'm pretty certain I'm not imagining it.

If it can't be reproduced easily, I'll keep an eye out for it happening again and see whether I can see any kind of pattern.

JD, Oolite, in unrestricted mode as per your log - would never say 'Fuel Injectors Destroyed'.

It can only say 'Fuel Injectors Damaged'...

If you were to play in strict mode, 'Docking Computer Destroyed' could indeed be shown, since docking computers are compatible with strict mode, but fuel injectors aren't, so Oolite still wouldn't to display that exact message, I'm afraid.

If you're sure that it did say Destroyed, the message itself has to be coming from an OXP...

Hmm... maybe the OXP tries to remove the fuel injectors via js, but somehow fails if you're using them at that precise moment...



PS: looking at equipment.plist, EQ_HEAT_SHIELD doesn't seem to be available in strict mode... shome mishake shurely?

PPS: just made EQ_HEAT_SHIELD compatible with strict mode.

No. It wasn’t available in strict mode in the old “first N items” scheme.

Not strict mode.

Sorry, it probably said "damaged" - I was just going from memory. I'm really, really positive it said "fuel injectors" though. He said, beginning to slightly doubt his sanity once more.
