Wow! That's pretty cool. I'm getting back into my Astronomy - my 9yr old is going her Stargazing badge in Brownies!

This is good... get her interested early. I bought my first telescope and Norton's Star Atlas when I was nine or ten.
Galaxy Zoo and its offshoots are amazing citizen science... find something really odd, and have it named after you.

She got a National Geographic Planetarium for Christmas - but it eats batteries and has no input for an optional PSU - she falls asleep watching it go round and round on her ceiling and by the time we go to bed the batteries are flat...

For those that don't speak Dutch: "voorwerp" is just the Dutch word for "Object".

Hmm… how massive a trader do you need for the wormhole to be 100,000 light years across? I guess it was hauling neutronium.

Oddly enough, I've got a Brownie Stargazer badge. Our astronomical society has helped a number of cub, scout, brownie and guide groups achieve their badges (shame Newbury is too far to go!). I got awarded a badge as a thankyou (along with a £15 gift voucher for my trouble).

We had 140+ people visit us for 'Stargazing Live' on the weekend. Young and old alike. V cool.
