I think DaddyHoggy does this quite routinely, and hasn't yet received an answer from a spam bot.

The problem with PM’ing a suspected ’bot, is that a genuine new member may not be aware that they have a PM… you have to log-in to know that, and I think there are many genuine members who join, then don't log-in again for some time, if ever.
I’ve toyed with the idea of e-mailing suspects… I may start doing that, in future.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!
