When I force the witch jump failure: I shoot a fourth of military laser to every Thargoid warship and then Shoot the energy bomb.

When I don't: I hope to have an energy bomb. I hope there's just one ship and then I shoot the first Thargoid I see.

That's the spirit!

Just don't blow up any thargons, they're big bucks worth to the Navy people.
Just blow the Mommy thargoid and all the liddle thargons can be scooped and did you know they are worth more than their weight in trumbles?

Thargons are usually worth more dead though. The going rate for alien items can be as low as 20cr per tonne, but killing a Thargon guarantees 50cr.

Yep, kill 'em, and collect the 50cr. Let the Navy collect their own lab samples if they can't pay decent rates!
Very funny, Scotty, now beam down my clothes...

Or collect them and deliver them to the Behemoth or some hi-tech system where they pay more than 60cr.

Disturbingly Thargoids seem capable of outrunning QC mines!

MY own anti-Thargoid methodology relies on forward and aft military lasers: i.e. fire forwards until overheat, flip, fire with backwards until overheat, flip, etc. Take out all the motherships, and scoop the Tharglets (true, you can shoot them, and so gain both credits and combat-kills, but that's a bit like the old days, when you could make it to Elite status having fought nothing more offensive than an asteroid, and even splinters counted as 'kills').
Edit: Even splinters accidentally run into, while attempting to scooop, counted as kills
And so I gave myself to God. There was a pregnant pause before He said "OK"

I can remember the more exotic stuff being more volatile than other cargos, spricewise.
I used to fly several systems to get a decent price for my hold full of AI,gems/platinum.
Only some systems paid really well fur such stuff, especially the platinum.
great to find a sytem that sold it then bring it to the system that bought it at 10times the price.
Good thing about platinum is; you can lug it along with you utill someone offers a good price. In the meantime I had the theory that the more valuable the cago, the more pirates were attracted to you. (corrupt officials see?)

Thargoid scooping is important. Shame on you, you should do your part as galactic citizens. ;)
Maybe there should be more incentive to 'spare' the tharglets?

A quirium cascade mine,

Similar to the energybomb, it's detonation causes the drives of ships within it's range to explode.
Secondary explosions from these ships carry the wave of destruction even further. Hence the cascade part.
After deployment, ships have 5 seconds to get out of range.
