Had a look at the textures.
The fine print on one of them reads:

Code: Select all

TransHab
a DRACOrp Industries
                    product
Ring any bells?

Edit: fixed spelling.

Good find! As this is more in line with already existing authors in the OXP List than Draco-Carlos as stated on Oosat2 I take this one.

The read me enclosed with the oxp says:

Code: Select all

Oolite OXP
tori. a work in progress.
murgh
jan2006

has:
torus components to assemble 4 slightly different-looking versions, single and double, diamond and trumpet combos.

last:
shrunk imagesizes.
slowed down rotation
I noticed that Svengali also fixed the problem that the old station suddenly became visible at a certain distance, like decloaking. That was because the main-entity was only the central rod in the original. And Oolite assumes that when the main-entity is to small to be visible, the whole ship/station is not drawn.

The Torus station… is its rotation rate the same as a normal station? On manual docking it appears normal, but on launching, my ship seems to be rotating a lot slower than usual. I can’t be sure, but that’s the impression I get.

It should be the same rate, at least in the original torus OXP, because back then the rotation rate was more-or-less hardcoded.

However, that could have changed in the new release.

Nope. When you look at the readme from january 2006, in my last message (see above) , you see that murgh explicit did mention that he lowered the rotation a bit. So it already was possible back than. The only difference than was that you only could set a default rotation for all stations in a system. Since 1.74.2 we can do it individually per station.

If I read that right, Torus v2.01 rotates at a slower, more stately speed, which suits it well... thanks Svengali.
