Oolite with second display?

Post by Wiggy »

I did search for this, but couldn't find anything.

I've got an iMac with a 20" Cinema Display. Oolite in Full Screen only displays in the iMac's screen. The 2nd monitor is blank.

Anything I can do about this?

Have you tried to switch between monitors with F7?

Or to assign the monitor through the system preferences?

Sorry, not sure what you mean -- F7 doesn't do anything in the Finder or in Oolite (well, not with monitors, anyway.)

Assign the monitor?

Do you mean set the 2nd display to be the one with the menu bar? I could do that -- it's just that it's not how I have it setup for everything else.

Well, I can shift the window to the other monitor, but Full Screen is significantly faster. (Or rather, windowed can be slow with lots of objects.)

I suppose I'll just have to switch the menu bar to the other screen before launching Oolite.

Yeah, that was what I meant.

On my Mac the F7 key is the keyboard shortcut for switching between monitors (like F3-F5 are the keyboard shortcuts for audio on/off and volume). I assumed that would be true for all Macs, but probably I was wrong.

I believe it's an option on the preferences to turn off the functions for function keys. :D It's particularly useful for people like me that run a Windows virtual machine on a Macbook, and OS X steals all the F-keys (don't ask).
